Today I went to the ophthalmologist for the first time in two months. The purpose is to see if my glaucoma has progressed.
I left my house at 7:50 a.m. and took the 8:00 a.m. bus, and the bus was packed as usual. This bus, No. 46, runs quite a long distance and also passes in front of the university, so there were many passengers. But I was glad that I was able to get a seat on the way.
The ophthalmology clinic is a bit far from the internal medicine and psychiatry clinics I usually go to, so it is nice to have a different view of the city. I had some time to kill, so I walked around the intersection of Sakai-machi-dori and Nishikikoji-dori and found a dried persimmon in a machiya-style house.
As you can see from the photo, dried persimmons in a machiya house is very wintery.
In the next photo, I took some unusual chrysanthemum flowers. They look like fireworks. I thought this might be a Sagan chrysanthemum. Saga chrysanthemum is a kind of chrysanthemum bred in Japan in the Edo period, named after the chrysanthemum that used to grow wild on Kikugashima island in Osawa pond in Daikakuji temple.
Today I didn't have to wait long for my name to be called and my vision and intraocular pressure to be tested. I was sleepy before I left home today, but by the time I arrived at the ophthalmologist's office, my eyes were clear, so the vision test was a good result. Then it was my turn to be examined. The doctor told me that my intraocular pressure was fine, which was good.
After leaving the ophthalmologist's office, I found some interesting things on my way to the pharmacy. First of all, there are signs in the building. I thought the design was cool and interesting, with a vertical one and a horizontal one side by side.
Then there were also Christmas decorations here and there, and I took a picture of one of the most interesting ones. These are the decorations of an Italian restaurant. First of all, here is Santa Claus holding onto a rain gutter. I enjoyed seeing him climbing up the rain gutter because there is no chimney as expected.
The second one is Santa Claus, his reindeer, and some other animals climbing up a ladder. This was a very large scale decoration, as you would have to go up to the rooftop to make this kind of decoration.
I got some medicine at the pharmacy and took the bus home.
Today was a day that made me feel very much like winter and Christmas, and it was very heartwarming.

A lovely area and great decorations!
Glad your glaucoma is under control. I work in a vision clinic, and see a lot of different eye ailements. This one is nothing to fool around with.
Good job with your 5583 @actifit steps for the day. Take care and enjoy!
Thanks. I'll be on my guard and insert the eye drops as the doctor said.
Awesome! Take care!
Wow, this is a very interesting and unique decor idea I would say. Maybe Modern Santa who takes a ladder to enter the house!!! 😅
This is interesting. I have never seen this kind of decoration before.
