Hello, Hivers and music lovers!

Happy Tuesday!!! It's been a while since my last #ttt post and it's time to do something about it.

For this Tuesday I was inspired by a photo I took on my recent trip to Chicago while I was walking through the Hyde Park neighborhood. On one corner we saw a street sign, Chaka Khan Way. It turns out that the singer who was so popular in the late 70s and 80s was born in Chicago and grew up in Hyde Park. So in 2013, she received this recognition.

She has a musical career spanning more than 50 years. I honestly didn't know she was still singing, but she is.

When I saw the sign that day while walking by I immediately wanted to listen to I Feel for You. But before I get into the tunes, let me give you a little background for those of you who aren't familiar with #threetunetuesday. In the words of @ablaze, who started the initiative.

The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

You can find out more at ablaze's post with his recommendations for last week the #153.

And without further ado, let's go with the tunes.

Tune 1 - Chaka Khan - I Feel for You

This song brings back so many memories of my adolescence. It was originally written by Prince, who included it on a released album in 1979.

However, I'm sure some of you will remember the version of I Feel for You which was so popular in the 80s by Chaka Khan.

Tune 2 - Chaka Khan - Ain't Nobody

The following song was also played a lot in the 80s. Performed by the funk band Rufus and Chaka Khan, Ain't Nobody. Do you remember it?

Tune 3 - Chaka Khan - I'm Every Woman

The third song, I didn't know it was hers until I looked for info for this post. It became well known in the early 90s performed by Whitney Houston. But the original version of I'm Every Woman is from 1978 performed by Chaka Khan on her debut solo album after she left the funk band Rufus.

Have you ever listened to Chaka Khan before? Which one is your favorite of the three tunes? Tell me in the comments.

Thank you very much for reading!

Enjoy the music, and enjoy life!

I haven't heard of her before but upon listening to her songs I like the ain't nobody. Maybe I hear these song before, the tune quite familiar.

You may have heard her on the radio sometime. She was very popular in the 80s with the first two songs I mentioned. Cheers 😄

Oh wow, what a brilliant choice for this week and I love the visual that inspired you too share her here!

I remember it was back in the mid 80's when I was working in a record shop..lol.. and first came across her and have loved her since.

I was lucky enough to hear her purely by chance as I was walking through in Central park in NYC back in 97 with a few other backpackers and she played with James Brown and although I didn't go into the actual concert area, but sat on the grass with hundreds of others hearing everything crystal clear, it was amazing.

It was just such an amazing experience all round, to be in Central Park for the first time ever, sitting in the sun surrounded by such beauty, both in the park and in my ears!

Favourite song? Tough tough decision....

Thank you so much for sharing!

How cool that you got to hear her in Central Park, must have been amazing.
Thanks for stopping by! 😄

It's not good to say this title in the Philippines.. because chaka means ugly 🤣🤣

Oh gosh, lol 🤣🤣🤣

Powerful voice sounds amazing in Ain't Nobody, don't think I have listened to her previously perhaps over the radio, sounds familiar but cannot place where.

Ain't Nobody is wonderful. You may not remember the singer but you probably have heard one of the first two songs. They were played a lot in the 80's :)

More than likely heard on the radio travelling to/from work in those years.

Hello dear friend @coquicoin good morning
It is incredible that this artist was still singing, 50 years of musical career is a long time. Deserved recognition that she has received
Yes, since I haven't heard it, Tune 3 - Chaka Khan - I'm Every Woman is my favorite
Thank you very much for this excellent musical choice, it has brought back many memories
have a great day

Oh this is a blast from the past Super Eli 💙

Chaka Khan is great though and Ain't Nobody is my favourite I would say!

Wishing you a terrific Tuesday Super Eli!

Speaking of a blast from the past, you didn't lag with your today's #ttt, Super Ed ;)🌀😘

My fave Chaka Khan song is Through The Fire I always got to sing in karaoke when I was younger. :D

Thank you for sharing:)

You're welcome.

Uh another great memory... Ain't Nobody !
Directly came here from Ed's Olivia post and its so interesting, the music, the clothes, the way of being made such a radical swtich within the 80s, but so easily, without pressure.
I am happy that time was my youth ❤️

I too am happy to have been a teenager in the 80s. How are you, dear beeber? I'm glad to see you around 😘

Yes dear it was a great time to grow up. Thank you I am fine, not much changes lately, but I am ok 💕

I'm glad you are ok, take care 😘

I haven't heard of Chaka Khan before but she is good. It's so nice that they named the street in her honor. I love Ain't Nobody❤️
