Hello Hivers and music lovers!

Today is Tuesday, it still is on my side of the world, and I'm still in time to make my post for today's #threetunetuesday by @ablaze.

And what's the #ttt all about? Every Tuesday, those of us who participate in it share 3 tunes. Take a look at ablaze's post with today's recommendations, and find out more about this initiative.

I usually have my Tuesday songs chosen in advance, but this week it's not the case. In the last few days, the Covid virus has been visiting me at home. Fortunately, I'm the only one with symptoms, and I'm feeling much better. But I'm not on my best days. Therefore my selection today is a bit random. The songs have nothing in common with each other, except that I have listened to them over the last few days.

So let's go with my three Random tunes for today.

Tune No.1 What a life - Scarlet Pleasure

My first choice today came to my attention thanks to the great Danish film Another Round (Druk). The movie was awarded the Oscar for the best foreign film in 2021. It is directed by Thomas Vinterberg and starring the acting monster Mads Mikkelsen.

This song is by the Danish band Scarlet Pleasure. What a Life is played in the final scene of the film, which like the rest of the film, is not to be missed.

What a life, what a night
What a beautiful, beautiful ride
Don't know where I'm in five but I'm young and alive
Fuck what they are saying, what a life

Tune No.2 Freaking Out The Neighborhood - Mac DeMarco

The following song is by an artist I discovered thanks to my son, who loves this Canadian singer called Mac DeMarco.

The song I chose has a story behind it. It is an apology to his family for an incident he had one day in a bar where he got very drunk. He got naked, and his friends filmed him. The video ended up on the internet and went viral, and his family saw it. I don't particularly like the story, although is a bit funny. But I like very much the song ;)

Sorry, mama
There are times I get carried away
But please don't worry
Next time I'm home, I'll still be the same

And I know it's no fun
When your first son
Gets up to no good
Starts freaking out the neighborhood

Tune No.3 Lágrimas Negras - Bebo Valdés & Diego El Cigala

And to close, I couldn't leave out my Latin touch. So the third song is a classic from 1929, Lágrimas Negras by Cuban composer Miguel Matamoros. There are many versions of this song, but I'm going to share the one from a duo that will probably require me to dedicate one of these Tuesdays soon, Bebo Valdés & Diego El Cigala.

El Cigala is a famous Spanish gypsy flamenco singer. And Bebo Valdés was a well-known Cuban pianist.

The two joined forces in 2003 to record an album called Lagrimas Negras, a compilation of some Latin songs of all times performed by the voice of El Cigala and with some flamenco arrangements.

Y aunque tú, me has echado en el abandono
Y aunque tú has matado mis ilusiones,
En vez de maldecirte con justo encono
En mis sueños te colmo
Y en mis sueños te colmo de bendiciones.

So this is my random selection for today, a bit weird to listen to together. But some days, I'm in that kind of mood of listening to a bit of this and that.

If you have made it this far, thank you very much for reading!

Enjoy the music, enjoy life!

I think that Mac story is hilarious. Thank god social media wasn't around back in my youth. Aaaghhhh...
I am sure they laugh about it now. It's a cute song. I like the way he sings like he is speaking, and about a very ordinary life event. Kinda reminded me of this which you may like. She's Australian.

Love the Latin touch of your tunes too.

That's what I like about the song, that it's very simple and talks about something so ordinary and I find it a bit sweet, hehe. Thank you for the recommendation I like it and will look for more songs by her.
Thank you for stopping by:)

Thank god social media wasn't around back in my youth.

Amen to that 🤣🤣🤣

Haha!!! can you imagine how many apology songs you would have had to write? 🤣🤣🤣

Oh my god the list would be endless 🤣🤣🤣

🤣🤣🤣

So Rorro is feeling better?

Good morning Super Eli, I decided I would listen to them this morning instead of last night when I am more awake!
So here we go..
What a life - Scarlet Pleasure never heard of the band nor the song nor the movie that it came from. I like the song though so maybe I would like the film, where did you see it?
Freaking Out The Neighborhood - Mac DeMarco the story cracked me up and the intro had a bot of an African beat to it. Never heard of Mac either, but I like his voice and the only thing I would say that it was too short a song!
Lágrimas Negras - Bebo Valdés & Diego El Cigala ¿Qué puedo decir? me encanta el piano y el cante flamenco y el piano juntos son perfectos.

El Cigala is a famous Spanish gypsy flamenco singer

... and I know him, well, his singing:)

A wonderful selection as always Super Eli, am glad you are feeling better, you know it is all the After Eights that I am eating for and oh yes the Scotch pies too!

Morning morning Super Ed! 😄☕️

Rorro is fine already. He only felt a bit sick for a couple of days.

The film is great and he's a great actor, everything I've watched with him is good. I watched it last year, in a copy that was passed on to Carlos. It's not on Netflix :( but I think I saw it is on Prime Video.

Mac DeMarco is nice. I like some other songs by him too. Rorro likes him very much, jeje he listens to him often.

I imagined you knew El Cigala because he is well known. ;)

I feel better but not fully recovered, so you will have to keep eating some more After Eights and Scotch pies for me 😉 Have an awesome Wednesday Super Ed 😽

OH I do have Amazon Prime, so I can check later.
I am glad that Rorro is better, so just Super Eli that needs to get better, well I did have a Scotch pie for dinner and a ploughmans roll which was tasty with beans and hash browns!

After Eights will come, when it is yeah After Eight 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah El Cigala is well known, but I only know him from when was living in Spain to be honest, flamenco etc it has no market in the UK really

ploughmans roll

I don't know what is it. I will google it jeje

Now that you mention the Cigala I wonder if Latin music is listened to in the UK. In Spain of course, they do and in France, they love all Latin music. I remember in Istanbul that in the street when you walked past a nightclub you could almost always hear Latin music playing. But I haven't been to the UK for many years, since I went to London when I studied in France so I have no idea, I remember Monika going to her salsa dances but I wonder if Latin rhythms are listened much.

Not really, there used to be a little Latin night club in Aberdeen which was awesome and my favourite place. But apart from Spanish restaurants not really much Latin music around!

Uhm, thank you, I thought so ;)

Which reminds me I need to think about trying the Arepa place!

I hope your feeling better @coquicoin! Damn that covid virus 😒😒😒 Don't forget to drink lots of water or tea and plenty of bed rest 🤗

Your choices this week are all new to me and I really liked the vibe of that first one 😁 The second one I wasn't feeling it, I don't know why 🤷‍♀ The 3rd one was really emotional ❣️

Thank you for sharing and great to see you become a regular on #TTT 😍

Thank you, I feel better, and I hope to be fully recovered in a few days 🤗
I'm glad you like two of the threes ;)
And yes I'm becoming a regular, I have so much fun doing the post and listening to the other's tunes. :) Cheers!😊🤗

Thank you, I feel better, and I hope to be fully recovered in a few days 🤗

Really loving the mixed bag you brought us this week. My favourite was Bebo Valdés & Diego El Cigala which was fantastic. You really can't beat a bit of Saxaphone and in case you think you are living in a parallel universe where Ablaze does his TTT listens on a Thursday you're mistaken! Dreem Port brought me here early this week 🙌 🤗 🤟

Hi there!! for a moment I thought, what's going on here? maybe I have a fever and I thought it was Thursday and it's Tuesday 😂😂
I'm glad you liked it :) Diego El Cigala is great.
And nice that you're using Dreemport.
Happy day!😄

Can one choose any three kinds of songs or you are given the choice to pick from and listen to? I would like to participate against next week too. I came via Dreemport.

Hi, princess!
You choose the songs you want. In previous weeks I have done them from the same artist for example, or around a particular theme, or as in this one in which the songs don't have anything in common except that I like them :) You post it on Tuesdays with the tag #ttt

Thanks for stopping by! And hope to see you posting next Tuesday ;)

Okay, good. Thank you ma

You are welcome :)

Loved this Coqui. My fave was definitely number 3 - the instrumentals were fabulous all round. That Flamenco Latino sound is wonderful and his voice is magical. I listened to it twice😍Thank you for sharing this. Discovering new music is the best thing about #ttt ❣️ So many genres, artists, and songs that we would never be exposed to if we didn't step out of our zones.

Hi Sam! I'm so glad you liked it. Yes, El Cigala has a wonderful voice, maybe in another ttt I will share some other songs performed by him.
Thank you very much for the appreciation and for stopping by! 😊🤗

I can never take my dog to the park because the ducks keep trying to bite him.
I guess that’s what I get for buying a pure bread dog.

Some great tunes! I really like the first one, the Scarlet pleasure. Never heard of them before but some of the European bands are great! One of my favorite bands has to be Sabaton, not sure if you've heard those wild Swedes but they have some badass music!

Hello! I never heard of Sabaton before, but will listen to them now.
Thank you for stopping by and for the recommendation. :)
