Singer-Percussionist Francis Greg for Triple T

in Music2 days ago

Magandang Buhay!

Tuesday down in DD and it means only one thing - Tunes! Three Tune Tuesday by Ablaze, that is! Today's tracks are from Francis Greg, a Filipino talent whom I first encountered many moons ago while listening to Music Travel Love whose songs I've shared early this year.

Like MTL, Francis performs acoustic covers mostly as a soloist but knows how to collaborate with others. He goes to scenic spots with his signature style (t-shirt and a cap) plus his beatbox (cajón) and films his MVs.

The story has it that during the pandemic (2020), his girlfriend uploaded on TikTok a video of him singing Lukas Graham's Love Someone and it went viral both locally and abroad.

Anyway, enough of that and let's check three of his covers below.

From the Ground Up

I loved this when I first heard it probably because of the lyrics and of course, the amazing rendition of both singers, Francis Greg and Keyboardist Dave Moffatt. They were in two different countries but it's amazing how technology works these days, making it easy for producers to synchronize things to give viewers a seamless and enjoyable experience.

Hoping they would do another collab. They sound great! Speaking of which, this was their previous collaborative work, along with Dave's two brothers - Bob and Clint Moffatt.

Here comes the second tune:

Talking to the Moon

Would it be too much to admit I could mistake his voice for Bruno Mars'? Well, that's what I felt anyway listening to this cover. He has a voice with unique clarity and a distinctive vocal style. But he does sound like Bruno, noh?😅

And to my final recommendation for the day:

Dancing on My Own

And he sounded like Calum Scott on this one😅 Joke aside, I thought he did great on this rendition. His tenor range is quite impressive. He's been on my playlist and will be for a long time.

He has done acoustic covers of Air Supply songs, Shania Twain's, Savage Garden's, Phil Collins', Barry Manilow's, and many others. If you wish to check them out, visit his YT channel.

Thank you and cheers!

You’re welcome. 🥰

All of those songs are quite good and cool. I think I liked all of those because all those song used less instrument and I heard the pure classic voice.

Glad you like them, Inti. That's what's nice about his acoustic renditions.

Magaling nga 👏!

He's got it 😉

hidden talent

Yep, although he's not literally (hidden), as he has quite a fanbase across his social media pages

they are good singers, even tough a little malincony there

They sure are. I wonder what type of music you like most

I have been through some really shitty periods so everything with malonconic style makes me sad 😅 I like rock/tecno stuff such as breakin Benjamin, Linkin park, the less famous Jeff Wayne's "war of the worlds" and Frank Klepacki for example

He has such an amazing voice, I love him already. 🥹🤭

The two last ones were my favorite. And yes, he does sound like the artists and that’s to show how dynamic of a voice he has. 🌹

😍 Gracias again :)
