I love Pilates too and find them to be both beneficial.

I get that. When doing yoga, it's important to do slow, controlled movements to avoid any sudden jolts on the body, as that could harm the muscles and joints.
I hope that you'll be able to get back into a yoga routine with the directions of an experienced teacher.

I have plans to follow some Pilates routines online because Pilates is a safe and effective way of strengthening and toning the body.

That's a serious problem, some people can't even imagine.
