There is no room

And it's like a trap which cannot be escaped...

Dad's condition has improved after being given normal food, and I was surprised to see two different doctors having two separate opinion on diet. The critical care doctor recommended to give him only liquid, saying he should not eat as he was having loose motion. But then the Gastro doctor came like divinely appointed saying he should eat everything he wishes - no restrictions. His point was, only medicine or higher antibiotics can't change the game - food is the most essential part of the plan to heal him faster. He was telling me, how difficult it is for them to motivate people to eat, your Dad has cravings to eat and that is a gift. So give him everything or anything he want to eat - of course not spicy but it can be tasty without spice. And Dad was super charged to hear this and after eating normal food like roti, rice, curry etc for a day, his appearance changed dramatically, bringing him to normalcy. So this proves the fact that medicines are only temporary help, but food is our primary medicine and how important is that saying "if you do not treat your food as medicine, then one day medicine becomes your food". So I personally called the dietician and planned out some tasty regular food for him and he was all set to come of out ICU yesterday, but....

There is no room in such a big hospital. The doctor gave the green signal at 12'0 clock in the day and I waited till 10 pm in the night, but still we were not able to get a bed, even after with recommendation from one of their top Marketing Guy. As I write this post, I haven't still got a call and am going to meet him in a hour, but this seems to be a dangerously alarming trend proving the reality that money cannot buy you everything. Especially now, everyone has affordability but more and more people are getting unhealthy and most hospitals are always full.

At 9 p.m. in the night, they even seal the front door and you can enter the hospital only from Emergency, but sitting there alone and waiting for a room made me think aloud - what choices we should pick in life to not enter in this trap ? Because once you enter, you don't get a choice or decide - you are just a subject for them for extracting money until you become only a body without the name. They don't have the empathy or ideology any more - it's pure business now.

I think if your Dad wants to eat, it's a sign his body knows that it's good for him. The second doctor 💊 knows what he is doing!

Yes, the problem is that, he only wants to eat and sleep, but not do anything else, even walk. So his mind needs only comfort which is not going well at this age.

Poor love. It's so hard to see someone you love like this.

Food is an essential part of our lives, my friend, but what we really have to think about is why two doctors have totally different opinions. As you say, medications help a lot, but if we don't recover our energy with a good meal, I don't think we are complete.

In public hospitals, getting a bed is practically an odyssey. My friend, you have to have someone to talk to to get that spot. I hope your father recovers very quickly and it's good to find that little spot to be monitored by the doctors before being discharged.

I pray that the almighty God we serve will you through in the challenging and difficult times. Hospitals supposed to have enough bed for their patients. Is very bad that some of these hospitals still set profitt traps instead of them to focus on the fast recovery of the patients.

Why will hospitals ever close?
There was a time I got to the hospital around 2:00 am in the morning and I was attended to

It’s sad to see how doctors can give such different advice on something as important as diet. I also feel the pain of not finding proper care when it’s needed most. Food really can be medicine, but the bigger issue is how hard it is to get good and timely healthcare these days.

The truth is that when we enter a public hospital we are at the mercy of unscrupulous workers who are capable of anything to earn extra money. It is surprising how two doctors have very different opinions about their father's diet. The important thing is to reach an agreement with his meals to be okay with both of them.

This time is the most difficult when a family member is in the hospital and things and decisions seem very difficult to make. We just pray for a speedy recovery and return home to your father.

I am so confident that in this season of your life, you will definitely scale through

Ah man, that sucks. My mother in law had to go through something similar this past year with waiting for a room after getting out of ICU, but I don't think she had to wait nearly as long as you have. It's sad how understaffed and overloaded these places are.

Ya, finally they gave us a room today after 26 hours.

Food is your best medicine

A book written by Dr. Jitendra Arya

My father-in-law authored & published above book

My mother was discharged from hospital yesterday after spine surgery.

It is a business now. So, yeh, feeling is mutual.

Wishing your father fastest recovery. Wish him well.

They have a full fledged hospital for naturopathy ?

Well, I have even seen two gastroenterology doctors give opposite advice on what the same patient should do and eat.

You are right it is better to stay healthy as long as we can. Food and excercise are two key components to keeping doctors away. Unfortunately eventually we will all need the doctors, we just should try to delay that day as long as we can.

Unfortunately eventually we will all need the doctors, we just should try to delay that day as long as we can.

That's the most wise choice.

That's kind of sad. We had this bad experience as well back in the day at the hospital where my father passed away. That's really painful.

It's taking away the convenience of the patient! How could they!

It's truly unfortunate that hospitals have become more like profit traps than places of healing. 💔

Hospitals should be places of healing and not profit traps. It’s sad now that getting a bed becomes harder than getting treated. I wish your dad steady recovery and strength for your family through this difficult time

I have gone through the same situation you are in. 7 years ago my father became very ill and he also had skin problems. At that time I consulted many doctors and then I felt that sometimes doctors experiment on the patient. Every doctor follows his own different thought process. I pray to God that your father recovers soon. @sanjeevm

Thank you so much.

you are welcome sir..

the health sector has become the most profitable business now. this is a healthy living is important to avoid being looted from. praying for the quick recovery,

Bas dikkat issi baat ki hain bhai, profitability first service next.
Covering all base ke naam par unnecessary tests, aur insurance walon ki wajah se bill inflate kar dete hain. Aur jinke pass insurance nahi unki to bhai halaat kharab kar dete hain.

Thank you so much.

Glad to hear that your dad is doing better but really sorry to know about how Indian hospitals work in general :/ I guess yours is a private one so the wait time is probably even much longer in public medical facilities... So frustrating :/

@tipu curate 10

Yes, this is a private hospital and even though they charge premium price, people prefer to come here - everyone can now afford it.

I know, you will never find 2 doctors with same opinion and same diagnosis...

Here at 9pm hospitals close too, only emergency is open!

Nowadays, healthcare has become a business not only because of the lack of proper service from government hospitals but also because of the emergence of private hospitals. Doctors have become a situation where they enjoy government privileges and also earn their own income. In an era when healthcare is essential, this is an uncontrollable situation. The two opinions of two doctors in the same hospital about food are also surprising.

It's good to hear that your dad is doing much better.

It's really hard to get the same option from different doctors, everyone has what they believe is best for the patient

So good to hear your dad is feeling better after eating normal food again. Food really does make all the difference. But it’s heartbreaking that something as basic as getting a hospital bed has to become such a struggle.
Wishing him a smooth recovery and that things get easier for you both.

Some doctors have different solutions. The more experienced one will tell you the truth. It seems things will get easier if he eats what he wants. There are actually many solutions to prevent diarrhea. I wish your father a speedy recovery.

Thank you.

You will never get exactly the same advice from doctors. Each one gives different comments. I myself have found such evidence in the treatment of my father. Anyway, I wish your father's health to improve.

Thank you.

Prayers for you and your family my friend. Take care and hope that you'll hear good news soon.

Thank you.
