Nature is amazing, in it there is always something to admire, to discover, to recognize, I have always said and I will say that I am lucky to have so much nature around me, there are trees that give us shade and allow us to have clean and pure air, birds, fauna, flora and insects can not miss.
Thanks to the rains the plants and gardens have greened up, this also allowed the weeds to grow a lot, so a few days ago some neighbors got down to work and cleaned one of the gardens, every time this happens there are usually insects that obviously flee from what for them is devastation.
Yesterday, when I went back home to get something and return with some people I had to attend to, when I tried to put my hand on a railing of the walkways, I came across this insect which is a striking praying mantis.
It caught my attention how it came very safely and even stately, down the railing, plus its back has all the appearance of a leaf, which most likely along with its bright green color serves to camouflage itself and that in these spaces is extremely necessary, as there are many cats, plus opossums, snakes, not forgetting the birds, I still understand that mantises can prey on small birds like hummingbirds.
At first, I thought about continuing on my way, but after climbing two steps, I went back and took several pictures, some I can't share because they were blurry, since I got as close as my courage allowed me, I even touched the mantis with my cell phone, and it responded in a threatening manner, it even turned around following the cell phone, it knew that someone unwanted was very close and did not hesitate to let me know that it would defend itself.
Finally, after the brief photographic assignment, I withdrew and gave him his space to continue on his way and I also returned to my work, I know that not all humans love insects, but I know that each of them has a purpose in this world and therefore we must respect them.

La naturaleza es asombrosa, en ella siempre hay algo para admirar, para descubrir, para reconocer, siempre he dicho y diré que soy afortunada por tener tanta naturaleza a mi alrededor, hay árboles que nos dan sombra y permiten tener aire limpio y puro, aves, fauna, flora y no pueden faltar los insectos.
Gracias a las lluvias las plantas y los jardines han reverdecido, esto también permitió que la mala hierba creciera mucho, así que hace unos días algunos vecinos pusieron manos a la obra y limpiaron uno de los jardines, cada vez que esto ocurre suelen aparecer insectos que obviamente, huyen de lo que para ellos es la devastación.
El día de ayer, al volver a casa para buscar algo y regresar con algunas personas que debía atender, al intentar poner mi mano en una barandilla de las camineras, me topé con este insecto que es una llamativa mantis religiosa.
Llamo mi atención el como venía de forma muy segura y hasta señorial, bajando por el barandal, además de que su parte trasera tiene todo el aspecto de una hoja, lo cual muy seguramente junto a su color verde vivo le sirve para camuflarse y eso en estos espacios es sumamente necesario, ya que hay muchos gatos, además de zarigüeyas, serpientes, sin olvidar las aves, aún tengo entendido que las mantis pueden depredar a las aves pequeñas como colibrís.
En un primer momento, pensé en seguir mi camino, pero luego de subir dos escalones, regrese y tome varias fotografías, algunas no las puedo compartir porque quedaron borrosas, ya que me acerque todo lo que mi valor me permitió, incluso llegue a tocar a la mantis con mi teléfono celular, y esta respondió de manera amenazante, incluso se volteaba siguiendo el celular, sabía que alguien no deseado estaba muy cerca y no dudo en hacerme saber que se defendería.
Finalmente, luego de la breve cesión fotográfica, me retire y le di su espacio para que continuase su camino y yo también volví a mis labores, sé que no todos los seres humanos aman a los insectos, pero sé que cada uno de ellos tiene un propósito en este mundo y por ello debemos respetarles.
