Insect Macrophotography - Caterpillars and Dragonflies

PSX_20221228_014231.jpg

Yesterday I took a walk in the bush area on the outskirts of the rice fields, and of course I wouldn't leave my beloved macro lens. Wherever I go, except when I go to work, I always carry a macro lens with me so that when I find an object to take a photo, I don't lose that opportunity.

And in the outskirts of the rice fields yesterday I found two species of insects there. Those two photos of insect species are what I want to share in this post.

In the first photo is a caterpillar that I found eating wild plants on the outskirts of the rice fields. And this caterpillar seems to be the larva of the Theretra oldenlandiae moth.

Then there is a beautiful red dragonfly perched on a small branch. These dragonflies can easily be found in tropical areas such as in Southeast Asia. It's just that its presence in bushes or forests and also on the outskirts of rice fields which of course is not far from standing water, because dragonflies really like clean water.

Even if you want to look for various species of dragonflies, then look for a pool of clean water in the forest or on the outskirts of a swamp, where you will surely find a unique and rare species of dragonfly. I can guarantee it! :)

The red dragonfly that I share is Neurothemis terminata, a dragonfly belonging to the Libellulidae family. And here are some photos:
