A few days ago, I decided to explore one of the villagers’ gardens. My goal was simple—to find interesting flowers to photograph. With my camera and favorite macro lens in tow, I hoped to find natural beauty that often goes unnoticed in everyday life.
First Flower: Papaya Flower
My first step took me to a papaya tree. From a distance, I saw its small, greenish-white flowers. At first, I thought it was just an ordinary flower, but once I got closer and looked at it from a macro angle, its beauty was immediately captivating. Its shape was simple but its detail was incredible. There was a soft, natural feel that captivated me. With the right amount of morning light, I captured some of its best angles.
Second Flower: Melastoma affine
After being satisfied with the papaya flower, I walked further and found a more colorful flower, the Melastoma affine flower. The color is bright purple with a unique petal texture. This flower grows wild, but looks like a queen among the bushes. I also did not waste the opportunity to photograph this flower from various angles. The wind was a challenge, but with a little patience, I managed to get a photo that I think is very satisfying.
Third Flower: Cogongrass
At the end of the journey, I almost gave up because the weather was getting hot. However, my steps stopped when I saw cogongrass flowers blowing in the wind. Although often considered ordinary, cogongrass flowers have their own beauty, especially when viewed up close. Their smooth texture and gentle movements were perfectly captured in my shot. I tried to play with the composition to make the garden background look more dramatic.
