Hello HIVEs!
After I interspersed a post about the Open Studios in Steinhagen last Sunday, I would like to report on the second part of the light painting of landscapes today.
On this Easter Sunday, I was with @lichtkunstfoto at the Königshain quarry near Görlitz.
Granite was quarried here from 1844 to 1975. The Königshain granite was used, among other things, as building material for the Reichstag building in Berlin, the lighthouse on Cape Arkona and for the Neisse Viaduct in Görlitz.
What remains are several lakes and a museum.
@lichtkunstfoto had already explored the area in the afternoon. So we were able to get to the viewpoints relatively safely.
Nachdem ich letzten Sonntag einen Beitrag über die Offenen Ateliers in Steinhagen zwischengeschoben habe, möchte ich heute über den zweiten Teil des Lightpaintings von Landschaften berichten.
An diesem Ostersonntag war ich mit @lichtkunstfoto am Steinbruch Königshain in der nähe von Görlitz unterwegs.
Von 1844 bis 1975 wurde hier Granit abgebaut. Der Königshainer Granit wurde unter anderem als Baumaterial für das Reichstagsgebäude in Berlin, den Leuchtturm auf Kap Arkona sowie wie beim Görlitzer Neißeviadukt verwendet.
Zurück geblieben sind mehrere Seen und ein Museum.
@lichtkunstfoto hatte die Gegend bereits am Nachmittag erkundet. So konnten wir relativ gefahrenfrei, gezielt an die Aussichtspunkte gelangen.

The cover picture was the last picture taken at the lake. I was lucky that the cloud wall, which was usually closed on this evening, opened up for 15 minutes and the stars could be seen. Sven had already dismantled his camera at this point, taken a seat on a park bench and was enjoying a cigarette. I took the chance to capture a few star trails. I illuminated the scene with a NOCTIGON DM11.
Das Titelbild war das zuletzt aufgenommene Bild am See. Ich hatte das Glück, dass die sonst an diese Abend geschlossene Wolkenwand, sich für 15 Minuten öffnete und die Sterne zu sehen waren. Sven hatte zu diesem Zeitpunkt seine Kamera schon abgebaut, auf einer Parkbank platz genommen und genoss eine Zigarette. Ich nutzte die Chance, um ein paar Sternenspuren einzufangen. Beleuchtet habe ich die Szene mit einer NOCTIGON DM11.

In this picture, I didn't manage the lighting so well with the torch. It is difficult to achieve a balance between light, shadow and the reflection in the water. It took a few attempts.
In diesem Bild ist mir die Beleuchtung mit der Taschenlampe nicht so gut gelungen. Es ist schwer ein ausgewogenes Verhältnis von Licht, Schatten und der Spiegelung im Wasser zu erreichen. Es hat einige Versuche gebraucht.

Beforehand, we took some pictures directly on the shore at lake level. Unfortunately, the stars were hidden behind thick clouds.
Zuvor nahmen wir einige Aufnahmen direkt am Ufer auf Seehöhe auf. Leider versteckten sich die Sterne hinter dicken Wolken.

Here I would have liked to light the scene from a different position on the shore to better show off the structure of the granite rocks. Unfortunately, it was not possible that night. For that, I would have to know the surroundings better so as not to fall into the lake in the darkness by mistake. Maybe we will visit this place again.
Hier hätte ich die Szene gern von einer anderen Position am Ufer ausgeleuchtet, um die Struktur der Granitfelsen besser zur Geltung kommen zu lassen. Leider war es in dieser Nacht nicht möglich. Dafür müsste ich die Umgebung besser kennen, um in der Dunkelheit nicht ausersehen in den See zu fallen. Vielleicht besuchen wir diesen Ort noch einmal.

Also interesting were the many trolleys, a few buildings and the remaining track system on this site. Except for the museum, everything is freely accessible. So there is still a lot to photograph and stage at these quarries.

Interessant waren auch die vielen Loren, ein paar Gebäude und das verbliebende Gleissystem auf diesem Gelände. Bis auf das Museum, ist alles frei zugänglich. Es gibt also noch einiges abzulichten und in Szene zu setzten an diesen Steinbrüchen.

What Is Light Painting?
Light painting is a unique art form. As a rule, the darkness is illuminated by the artist with various light sources and traces of light are painted into the picture with various lighting tools. Various techniques are used, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. When using ND filters, this technique can also be used in daylight. All images were taken during a single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cropping and possibly adjusting the white balance, the images are not processed on the computer.
Lichtmalerei ist eine einzigartige Kunstform. In der Regel wird die Dunkelheit mit diversen Lichtquellen vom Künstler ausgeleuchtet und Lichtspuren mit diversen Lichtwerkzeugen ins Bild gemalt. Dabei kommen verschiedene Techniken zum Einsatz, wie Kamerarotation oder andere Bewegungen der Kamera während der Belichtung. Die kreativen Möglichkeiten sind nahezu unbegrenzt. Bei Einsatz von ND-Filtern kann diese Technik auch bei Tageslicht angewand werden. Alle Bilder wurden während einer einzigen Belichtung aufgenommen. Abgesehen vom Entrauschen, Schärfen, Beschneiden und eventuellem Anpassen des Weißabgleichs werden die Bilder nicht am Computer bearbeitet.

Yes, real. 🙂 Surrealistic feeling that everything is breathing and moving, lights of torches in the night that snatch out objects out of the dark, sudden branches and tree trunks here and there, crunching, rustling, and hallucinations 😁
For example, your image #2, trees have unrealistic angles (because a wide angle lens) and look like moving as algae. This is quite normal for magic mushroom trip 😀 The front trolley is misshaped and looks like its edges are flowing down slightly... These things. And, in general, atmosphere of night mystery.
