Sea or mountain?

Many times I have asked myself and I have been asked if I prefer the sea or if I prefer the mountains and my answer is always the same.

I prefer nature

Mountains

I know it is not one of the options, but walking in the mountains with my friends is an activity that I enjoy very much. Mainly, when you walk in the mountains of Asturias through gorges like the Xanas.

They are not high mountains, nor a very complicated route, but there you find everything that a mountain hiker desires: to enjoy the tranquility and to be able to interact with the nature that surrounds you.

And when one is already tired of walking, and even more so if one does this type of route in summer. It is always a rest for the eyes to look into the distance and see the mountain ranges in the distance while a light breeze cools the skin.

The mountain I can enjoy in my region is a real wonder. Especially in the spring and early fall season. Since the temperatures at this time are very mild, and as it rains almost every week in Asturias, the green of the meadows make up the mantle covering the mountains, giving a very characteristic color of this region.

Being one of my favorite places the Picos de Europa and specifically the area of the lakes of Covadonga. Historical place, but at the same time an authentic natural paradise.

Sea

The sea and the beaches are places that for me are essential for my good metal health.

I grew up 2 kilometers from the beach of Castello and there I enjoyed great fishing days with my father. Therefore, it is a place that I have a special affection for.

Other beaches like Arnau beach are also one of my favorites. But in this case it is the beach where in the summer months I like to go to toast a little in the sun and enjoy some relaxing baths.

And as not everything is sunbathing or bathing, one of the activities that I like to do is to walk along the beach in the rocky area.

Where some clueless crab allows itself to be hunted, but without causing any harm, I release it to continue its life cycle and at some point be food for some fish.

And when I get tired of being on the beach of Arnao and if the day is unpleasant, I just have to cross the bridge that separates Asturias from Galica and in one step I can visit the lighthouse of Pancha Island.

A place where the colorful flowers blend with the green of the vegetation, the blue of the sea, the cyan of the sky and the brown of the rocks. A picture painted by the best of painters that is Mother Nature.
