A quarry with a green lake

IMG_1299.jpg

Samara region, more precisely its northern region. There is a small village of Buzbash here, near which a large quarry is being developed. He found it by accident. And in addition, the quarry is active, it was lucky that at the time of shooting the majority of the workers had a day off. But still, the workers were there, and because of them it was not possible to go down to the lake ... I had to be content with a photo from the top ...

At first it may seem that the quarry is deep, but in fact it is located on the side of a mountain. And on the other side of the field. Therefore, visually it seems deeper than it really is.

Crushed stone, clay, limestone and rubble stone are mined here. Water has accumulated at the bottom of the quarry, maybe from melting snow, or maybe the workers dug up to some kind of groundwater. For some reason, it has a strong green tint. Maybe because of the minerals.

It was very interesting to look at the walls of the mine. Here you can clearly see all the layers, how the soil was formed. A layer of clay, a layer of stones, a layer of limestone and many other layers. They say that in such places you can find many interesting stones and minerals. I found only mica.
