RE: Infrared Photography - My First Try

Love these images, especially the little house in the blue/violet colours in your cover image.

I've been intrigued by infrared photography for a while, and would really love to give it a go someday... and someday I will, just need to do more research, its's a expensive process and I don't want to make a mistake and choose the wrong options/equipment

I look forward to seeing what else you can capture :-)

I'm still at the beginning and still have a lot to learn about IR photography. The equipment costs a little extra. As described above, I had the filters removed from the camera chip. That was 400 - 500$. Then you also need some IR filters. These cost 70 - 150$ each. I started with the 720nm filter. But I have already bought more. I will report on them soon when I have tried them out.

It is a big area too look at, and lots to research before I take my first step into it.. The money is a big issue too, I don't want to fork out all that cash, to end up with the wrong camera/filter/lens combination

I also know its tricky to edit to get some of the interesting, otherwordly colours, and I want to make sure I'm prepared with the right software and workflow before I take the leap.

I know there are some screw on IR filters that will work with an unmodified camera (and a tripod)... I might give one of those a go, and dip my toes into this photography niche

Would be really interested to see what else you achieve with different lenses :-)
