Trying to keep my drone batteries in tip top condition, I do tend to go and fly the drone even if I have no intention of taking any photos or video with it, a few days ago I did just that and was surprised by the rays of light that was kicking off over towards Sheffield city centre. I couldn't see them from where I was standing, and that the God rays were just too good to miss.
(Can you see the figure in the sky?)
My batteries were only partially charged, but the light rays were stunning and went on for ages, I was flying the drone for at least 40 minutes and it was still happening when I ran out of power on the last battery.
I really wished that I had full charges on the batteries as this would have made a fantastic time lapse.
Not only did I get some light rays, but the moon was also out too...
I really like the above image, although it is a composite, I wanted to get the moon but on the drone it looks like a small dot, so I put in a composite of a picture of the moon that I shot on my telescope, the original shot is below...
Which do you like the best, the original or composite?
The light was beautiful when the sun appeared from behind the clouds, it would have made for some great photography on the moors, sadly it would have gone by the time I'd have got there.
All shots done using a DJI Mini 4 Pro with a ND8 filter on. Processed in Lightroom, Skylum HDR and also Photomatix HDR.
Thanks for reading,
All the best :-)
Some amazing god rays right there, nice captures!
