1933 Chrysler Imperial

in Photography Lovers3 months ago (edited)

This is a 1933 Chrysler Imperial, originating in Ontario, Canada. Interesting, considering this was photographed in Cranbrook, British Columbia. Imagine back in the 1930’s, when these types of vehicles filled the streets and highways! The car is powered by a “red head straight 8” engine (the engine was painted a bright red, and that is why they call it a red head). This model first came out in 1926, and proved to be popular. With a fresh coat of paint and a few tweaks, this old girl could spring back to life! What is your favourite classic car?

A straight 8 was better for bragging rights at the time, but a straight 6 has perfect primary and secondary balance and is thus inherently a smoother engine, and is also much more practical for crankshaft length. Eight cylinders belong in a V block IMHO. But it's a nice car regardless.

Speaking of V8 engines, I'd probably want a Ford of that era. But swapping the flathead V8 for a modern 5-liter would make it a lot more powerful and practical.

Interesting, what model of Ford would that be?

Seems the old engines are holding up much longer than our modern ones. Just had a look at a 60-year-old boat with beautiful Gardner engines the owner said he never has problems. Thank you for sharing.

It seems that most things are built to fail nowadays. 60 years old, wow! Thanks for dropping by.

What a beauty! I love those old classics, but they can be expensive. Especially to maintain. I would love to have one of those in the garage! Great pictures.

I would love to have one of these, the Rolls Royce Phantom II from 1935! I would probably have to win the lottery though!

Looks like something royalty would ride, and I’m sure they do/did! Thanks for looking.

Wow, what a super car. We get to see such cars only in movies.😅

Not something you see everyday! Thanks for looking.

After yesterday you published one of the cool classic cars and today you are back to show one of the other classic cars is certainly no less interesting than yesterday, this is a super cool old car.
Good find, my brother.

Imagine owing one of those amidst the great depression 👀

Several of those 30's luxury cars ended up abandonned back then

It would have been a great opportunity to pick up some cheap cars at the time.

Dream. Those who bought and kept are in good shape today stonks

It's a living vintage, and a beautiful piece of tech. A lot of people will want to pay so much for this..

Definitely right? I would be a buyer if I had the extra $. Thanks for stopping by.

Old cars like the 1933 Chrysler Imperial really bring history to life man It's remarkable how they’ve endured through the years. Lovely piece man

Exactly right, bringing history to life. Thanks.

You're welcome brother

An old car like this is certainly quite beautiful and if we drive it now it certainly looks quite classic

Yes, would love to give it a test drive, down the road.

I only saw this in old movies and elsewhere, but it isn't used since it's broken, but it's wonderful because they retain it and are simply displaying it for others to see.

This one is in need of repair. But it sure looks nice. Thanks.

I want to see this car in real life, I only see this in movies😞

It would be fun to go for a ride in it!

Looking at this car, I am imagining how such vehicles would look on the roads the old era. It's not too bad, of course it would be a great car for 1933 era

Some of those old classic cars make you wonder how life was like back then.

Old but gold🤩

True eh!

Puras reliquias! Un espectáculo

very cool I really like that car and I'm very interested

Nice ride. Still very well intact.

Hermosos carros, las fotografías son lindas, saludos.

This is a neat car. I would like to have driven one of these. My favourite car is either a Model-A, Model-T or a 1930's Mercedes. There are a lot of other cars I like too. I like vehicles until about the 1960's, with some exceptions.
