My daughter starts school this next week, so I scheduled a quick getaway down to Moab so we can spend some time together before she starts her senior year. She has been left at home the past few times my wife and I went out of town, so I figured it would be good for her and I to go on a vacation together since it is usually my wife and her that go and I stay home with all the animals.
Moab is only about three and a half hours from our home, so once her boyfriend got done with work for the day, we all loaded up in the car and started driving. The drive was really nice. This monsoon weather we have been having the past couple weeks has been so weird, but we have needed the rain. Plus the clouds help with keeping the temps down a bit. They also make the skies look really cool. There was so many different rain storms along the way and a lot of lightning. Luckily the rain wasn't too bad along the drive because there are some spots that have mudslides and that would have really sucked to get stuck in traffic because of a mudslide.
We got to the resort around 930 in the evening. We were hoping to be able to get to the pool and hot tubs, but once we got checked in and moved everything up to our room, we wouldn't have had any time before they closed.
We are staying at the Moab Resort by Worldmark. It is one of their newest resorts and it is super nice. A lot better than the resort we stayed at in Vegas. One thing I really like about the Worldmark resorts is that they are so much more than just a room to stay. They are basically fully furnished apartments that have everything you need to make your vacation better. We usually go shopping at Walmart or something and then we have all the food we need for our stay because we can just cook all our meals in the kitchen.
We are not quite sure what we are going to do tomorrow. Arches National Park is right next to us, so we may go there. I want to head into Moab and just walk around and try out some street photography. I think we are just going to have a nice relaxing weekend and probably spend most of the time at the pools. Lemmmme see. There is a cool loop road around a big ancient caldera not far out of town. Mexican Hat, Valley of the Gods and the Moki Dugway are day trip material from Moab. You and your camera would like all of those.
If you do go down that way make sure you stop at Goosenecks State Park. You will not believe what you see the San Jose river do there. It's just amazing.
Guessing the company, the pools and tubs is probably the best option :)
Ya, there is a ton of stuff to do here in this area. A few years ago, my wife and daughter did some white water rafting and loved it. I want to try it some day, but this weekend is just going to be relaxing at the pool.
The sky in cloudy weather is really great for photography. I am also very sure that this vacation will come to you. Enjoy your time and take lots of photos man.

It's a very good vacation with family, of course when your daughter is on vacation from school and they can go have fun while on vacation with their parents It's something they really enjoy having a vacation with their family. So the trip to the place spent 3.5 hours of travel means about 200 km. Maybe it's a bit faster there because it has better road access than where I am Usually when I walk for 200 KM it takes 3.5 hours on the way.
