These roads are nice and plowed, but they are still pretty slick.

Gotta keep the sidewalks plowed in the neighborhood.

Someone didn't get the memo that you need to slow down in the ice and snow.

That will ruin your day.

Dwarf Fuji Apple tree.

This winter seems to have lasted forever. We have broken so many records with the amount of snowfall we have gotten and the snow continues to fall. It has been a wild winter, but I am ready for it to be over and the sun to come out.

As much as I hate driving in the snow, it does make my area look like a winter wonderland. Too bad so many people here have no clue how to drive in the snow. At least the one accident I saw was just a dude that ran off the road and crashed into a tree and didn't hurt anyone else. The speed limit is pretty slow on that road, so I have no idea how fast this doofus was going to lose control and go up in the grass. Hopefully it teaches him to slow down next time.

The plows seem to skip my street though and when I was getting home, I was having a bit of trouble getting back into my driveway because the snow had gotten deeper and I had to go uphill a bit. Good thing I have grown up driving in conditions like this and know what to do. So many people have moved here to this area over the past few years from places like California and have idea how to drive when the roads get bad.

Once the snow is gone and it warms up, I am going to be trimming the trees in my backyard. The branches are so thick in there and I think that trimming the branches will open things up a bit more and hopefully reduce the amount of birds that live in my trees.

I also just planted a new tree in my backyard. I am hoping to get a nice orchard in the back. The tree I planted was a dwarf fuji apple tree. I am going to be getting another fruit tree, probably peaches cause that's what my wife wants, and then some berry bushes.

The rest of this month is going to be snowy, but hopefully April brings some good rains and sunshine. I've got a lot of work to do to get things looking the way we want. We want to have a nice oasis for us to spend time out in nature and in the next few years we want our fruit trees and bushes to give us all sorts of treats.

Wow... Still snow huh?

We had no snow all last winter and this year, but then in middle of march it just came lots in one day and stayed like 4 days.
Then it was back to spring feeling and now they say we Will get more snow 🙈 OMG... Please no.

I love snow but now I am ready for SPRING 🌷🌹🌻 so I hope we both get sun and heat soon.

Looks like you had snow lot longer than we. Awsome pictures especially that one with water.. Looks like a post card.

This winter has been like when I was younger when it comes to snow here. The past several years we haven't gotten much for snow, but this year, our mountains have gotten over 700 inches so far, beating the record in 1983. It will be interesting to see if next winter is like this too. I hope so.

It sounds like you have a lot of exciting plans for your backyard, and I can imagine how beautiful it will be once everything starts to bloom. Don't worry, spring is just around the corner and with it comes warmer weather and sunny days. It's great that you have experience driving in snowy conditions, and I hope that you stay safe on the roads. Keep up the positive attitude and enjoy the process of creating your own oasis!

Thanks man. I was reading today about the apple tree and I guess I need to get another one so they can cross pollinate each other. I can't wait for my backyard to be finished.

Too bad people still don't know how to drive in snowy weather, man. Good thing he didn't hurt anyone else. I saw a guy crash into a stopped car the other day. So you park your car on the side of the road and when you come back you see that someone has crashed into your car. That sucks. It's an even worse feeling.

Peaches can be a good choice, I like to eat them when they are a little bit firm, especially when they are not fully ripe.

I had to go out driving with my wife to go to an appointment today and it was crazy on the roads. We got a lot more snow and people were flying on the road and there were accidents all over. I was glad to get home after.

Screw the snow I'm ready for it to be over too..
The majority of drivers probably shouldn't have a license. It amazes me how common sense doesn't seem to apply when it comes to driving in the snow.

Ya, we had another snow storm today and the roads were crazy. I am so done with it.

I wish I just had 12 months of that... dang. At least for a few years.

I have photos of me as a kid in England building big snowmen in a thick layer of snow. Memories of snow covering the golf course I'd tresspass through on my way to school...

But there's no photos of me as an adult like that. Snow just kinda... stopped. Nowadays you might get 1 or 2 days of pathetic mini snow that turns to sludge when it lands if you're lucky.

Now I live subtropically, I yearn for the day I can crash my car into a tree like that!

I would love to have a home in a tropical area and one in a place like Alaska. Then when I get sick of one place I can go to the other. That's the dream.

Best of luck with your apple tree. I planted three semi dwarf's around my barn, I had a couple in Georgia I wanted to bring with me but it did not work out. So I bought some new ones.

Hoping some of that snow makes it out east as we have seen little to none. Lets trade.. haha

Thanks man. I need to get another tree tomorrow so they can pollinate each other. I don't know anything about growing fruit. lol

Damn, I remember seeing your backyard in summer and the change is impressive, btw very nice. I have never known snow as my country is very tropical, but if it looks like this I definitely want to meet it haha.

Thanks man. Just slowly improving it as we go.

We got more snow here today as well and just now did the spring forward thing. That Dwarf Fuji Apple tree is gangster! Stay warm and hurry up and wait. You might be longing for a cold snap here in a few more months!

Hopefully this summer isn't too hot and that it doesn't warm up too fast and flood everything with the snow coming off the mountains. I think a peach tree will be next on the list to go in the backyard.

Peaches do love the heat... but i am not sure how well they will like the winters. Maybe a Sakura?!

I fully understand all the inconveniences that snow creates: traffic problems, cold weather, humidity.
Let's say it's only nice for the children, and for Christmas.
However.
Yes there is a though, subconsciously we adults like it too, after all it brings us back children!

I like the snow because it means I don't have to water my lawn as much during the summer.

sound so good weather looks also cool, love that all snowy photos you clicked. wonderful

It's certainly pretty, but hate having to drive in the stuff!

I guess the upside to all this winter's snowfall and rainfall is that reservoirs and lake levels are up, and the snowpack is thick enough to reduce the chances of water shortages by late summer.

=^..^=

I am hoping that our water levels are a lot higher this summer. We have been needing a snow like this for the past few years.

I really like snow... but it is treacherous AF, and it makes the sun into a flashbang grenade.

This winter, the amount of snow we have gotten has been awesome. It will be interesting to see how much flooding we get once the snow on the mountains start to melt.

It keeps snowing a little bit here and there in oregon.. we got one good snowstorm in the beginning of march.. then it all froze over for like 3 more days

I can't wait for the spring weather:)
