Oregon has a Piece of my Heart

On Oct 29th, for my birthday, I was able to go visit my family in Oregon. My niece was very sick the weekend I was there, and she wanted only me...I wasn't sad about it. In this first picture, she was having a very serious talk with me about one of their cats, Butters, killed a bird and brought it to them. She was very upset with Butters for his decision. She is 2 1/2 and her name is Addi.

This baby girl and her little sister have a major piece of my heart. They are so precious and mannnn I love them! Addi and I have a very close connection, and any time I am around she wants nothing to do with anyone else and I love it!

I was lucky enough to be there for Halloween, but because she was so sick, she didn't get to trick or treat. But she and her baby sister were the very cutest pumpkins there could be.

Fall was in full force when I was there and by George, it was the most awe inspiring view! Everywhere I looked was just gorgeous! I have a really amazing video of a pass I had to drive through, but I am having trouble getting it saved to share.

The SMELL of Oregon is incredibly special, if I could bottle it up I soooo would! The smell of fresh air, a brisk and cleansing rain, and delicious pine is just something so magical and calming.

Had it not been for my work being so amazing, we would so be there right now. Oregon has my heart in so many ways, and I cannot wait for my family to meet these babies (and the non-blood siblings that are there too)

Even though she was so super sick, she was all smiles with her Auntie "Fafe". She and I are besties, and I just love the connection I have with this baby girl. Their grandma is my sweet "momma" Patty, who passed away 2 years ago from cancer. Having these kiddos and their parents in my life gives me so much comfort as I continue to grieve the loss of my "momma" Patty.

By the time I got home, I was beginning to get sick from her cold. HA HA. It was a brutal cold, and took me 15 days to recover (it was not covid)...and my sweet hubby unfortunately caught it too. But, it was so so worth being around my babies and get time with my brother and sister from another mister.

Wes is the very best hubby for allowing me space and time to go visit these guys. It fills my heart to be near them, and I appreciate Wes understanding the importance of me getting time with all of them.

Thanks for taking time to read, I hope your day has been amazing!!

Beautiful post!! Reading about your special connection with Addi reminded me of my youngest brother, who is now seven, 21 years younger than me. Wait, is your birthday on Oct 29th? That's his birthday too! What a coincidence. I saw somewhere that soulmates can be anyone in our lives, and I have such a close understanding with him that I believe we are soulmates. He's my everything and his existence saved my life.

Oregon is one of the places I must visit. A dear friend of mine had planned a road trip there from Vermont, a long time ago. He still hasn't done it, and I truly hope to be able to go with him when he does. Your photos brought that desire back.

I'm glad that you recovered from the cold, and I hope you've had an amazing time.

Thank you for sharing! Happy Sunday to you.

Thank you! My birthday is the 28th, and yes! I am convinced I have many soulmates in my life! Oregon is absolutely a place to visit! It is such a stunning place! Thanks for reading and taking time to comment!!

I am glad that you had such an awesome time visiting them. Too bad you brought that nasty sickness back home with you. Hopefully soon we can all go and I can meet little Addi.

And little Hallie Ballie bear
