Todays photography trip to the forrest

I went to the wetlands of the "Traun" River today for some bird photography. Because it was pretty dizzy and cloudy today the sun only came out for some minutes, and I was not really able to take some nice shots of birds. I managed to take a picture of the blue tit during the time the sun showed for several minutes. But for the other birds like the woodpecker or the robin there was only very little sunlight and therefore the pictures are bad quality.

In winter there is only a very short time frame where there is the perfect light. Usually I don't like bright and direct sunlight because the pictures get so much overexposed and something tells me the pictures could be much better when the birds are in the shadow and I overexpose the scene with my camera and a bit of post-processing. But in winter there is rarely enough light to have a perfectly exposed picture. Another problem is the contrast with the snow. Autumn and spring are way better for some pictures I think. So I am already looking forward to spring and I hope I will have enough time for some bird photography.

Really beautiful photos. I love tits so I'm always happy to see some tit photos on hive.

Thank you. Tits are nice but I have to admit that i like the robin much more.

Well I understand, robins are nice too. But it's great that there are so many different birds so we all can have our favorites :)
