A couple of hours ago I read on my previous post a comment by @sjarvie5 about the Tidal Basin in DC, an artificial lake surrounded by hundreds of cherry trees and how wonderful they are when they blossom. In my answer I mentioned the only cherry tree that we have close to our farm and shortly after, I opened my archive to see if I have any pictures of it, and I did!
This is actually a sour cherry tree and it grows at the side of the road. As far as I know no one cultivates it neither picks its fruits. It just happened to find a nice spot to grow and it thrives ever after!
The pictures are taken on March 31 (not this year :)) so if I pass by in about 40 days I would probably have the pleasure of a similar spectacle for one more time!
And since I started digging, here are a few more shots from the same day.
A fig tree, forming its fruits...
... a walnut tree growing the first leaves of the season...
... a pink rock-rose...
and @traisto holding a few asparagus of a local kind!
In the last picture there is a rough shelter where a fellow villager keeps his goats and pigeons. It isn't something special but I like this picture. It gives an unseen perspective of the life here!
Thank you for reading and if you want to know more about me you can check out my introduction post.
Commenting, upvoting and rebloging are highly appreciated!
Thanks a lot :)
Yay that is so fun you have so many gorgeous pictures of the cherry tree there. The fig tree is really cool too.
The fig tree and walnut tree, spring awakenings, are my favorite, over cherry blossoms which are the same here in Romania's climate, but much later.
Man, fresh asparagus must taste so good. Great shots
Yes, they do :)
Thanks a lot!
