Street photos in Bangkok

Shot with Fuji X-T4

While walking in the streets of Bangkok, Thailand, I was always carrying my camera on my neck lol. It was quite heavy even though it's already a mirrorless camera but still less heavy than a DSLR.

Bangkok is a great and busy city. There's a lot of things to see.

Street foods are everywhere! This one sells fresh seafoods. The ones in the blue container were either live fishes or eels (I forgot lol). Guaranteed fresh cos they cook it in front of you lol.

This was in Thonglor, where new restaurants, hotels, dential clinics and shit like that are situated. It was near our hotel so we walked a lot in here. It was about 4-5 blocks away. It was really nice walking here. :3

I saw different types of cars here. Some even Porsche or some other sick-looking shit. I was too shy to take pics of them.

I don't know what this means but looks interesting lol. My iPhone camera can't detect the language, so if you know what it means it would be appreciated to let me know the translation hehehe. XD

The traffic in this road was so annoying. There was this one time the traffic was really bad and we were going to Terminal 21 mall which was just 3.2km away from us but it took us 1 hr to get there. We could've just walked and get there probably in 15 minutes.

I really appreciate their tactile paving. Most streets in Bangkok and even in Phuket have them. When I first noticed it I didn't think it was something important although it got me curious until I realized it's for the visually impaired! Really awesome as we don't have it in the Philippines.

When I was at Starbucks in Thonglor, I saw a squirrel on a tree. I was like "HAAAHHH A SQUIRREL!!!!!". I literally gasped so loud that the squirrel got scared, looked at me for a millisecond and ran off lol. I can tell it wasn't afraid of people cos there were grab drivers near the tree but it only ran when it heard me hahah. It was probably like bitch what the fuck while at the same time I was also holy shit they have squirrels here??? cos I really didn't expect them to have them here. Especially not in the middle of a busy city.

When I saw another squirrel, I took my chance and made sure I take a pic of it and not be so starstruck. xD

The pigeons have their own pathwalk. :D

If you've ever been to Thailand, it's quite impossible to not notice their shrines. We noticed there was a Fanta offering lol and according to my research, it was a symbol for blood - a replacement for an actual animal blood sacrifice that they used back in the times. :D

Awww it reminds me of the previous hivefest, nice pics !

Me too hahah I was wondering where the Hivers went during that time while I was writing this. :D Thank you!

Interesting, it reminds me four years ago I was in Bangkok.

Amazing shots here!! Bangkok is calling me!! I had never seen the city! Thanks for sharing

Thank you! Oh yeah it definitely is calling you, I think you'll love it the way I love it too :D

Wow..what an amazing place..you took it professionally fri nd👍❤️

Thank you! :D

Your welcome :)

Beautiful shots of the beautiful city @hiddenblade.
I have never been there, but it sure looks beautiful.

Thank you! It is! And those pics are just a small part of it :D

Good job highlighting the things we miss in our daily lives.

Thailand very much resembles my home country the Philippines, and I'll definitely never get over that. Following you so that I can keep up with your travel diaries! Keep'em coming! ✈️✨

That's what my first thought too, I even get mistaken as a Thai most of the time. Lol. Thank you!

Look so busy but cool 😉

Was very busy! :D

This is so beatiful pic.

Super

Bangkok is great (except for traffic jams 😀). I spent many months there, 1.5 years altogether or so.

I don't know what this means but looks interesting lol. My iPhone camera can't detect the language, so if you know what it means it would be appreciated to let me know the translation hehehe. XD

I can't understand Thai but I somehow can read. My reading skill is very low but this allows me to read destinations on local buses or type on google.translate, for example 🙂

Wow that’s amazing! So cool hahah. I didn’t really see any trash lying around the streets in this area so I didn’t think of the sign as something about littering but so cool that Thais follow the signs. Cos we Filipinos don’t xD Almost all of the times you will see signs but literally in that place there will always be something or someone that breaks the rule/law.

So cool that you learned to read and type a bit. To me the letters look the same hahah. Thank you for the translation!!!😊

😎 There is something else on the board, the numbers. 20\3\65. It means March 20, 2565. Because 2022 is 2565 according to the Thai calendar. This country is very special, the script, calendar, food, people. 🙂

Never been to the Philippines (but I met many travelers from there). Hope one day I'll see the famous beaches and Manila.

Yoooo!!! Is that why when I google something, the year is always so weird?? Like what you said 2022 is 2565. LOL. I thought we going crazy cos we searched the internet and I didn't see anything about it, so it's their calendar huh. Very interesting. :D Never been so confused in my life before haha and I actually never heard of it until now.

If ever you're in the Philippines, visiting Palawan is a must! Crystal clear waters and beautiful islands... Some think it's better than Phuket. :D I can't say cos I've never been to Palawan, maybe soon. :D

🙂 Palawan with Puerto Princesa town - a narrow long island in the west of the country - I've heard about it. Hope to see your Palawan stories on Hive soon. 🙂

Manila is a must too, it must be very cool for street photography, a huge metropolis with all urban extremes from luxurious skyscrapers to slums. + Most people speak English (unlike most Thais and Vietnamese) so the experience will be special.

I liked the part about the squirrel.

It was my first time seeing a squirrel in person haha

I've made friends with a few. If you get one to the point of trusting you enough to take food directly from your hand, just know those teeth hurt when they miss and hit skin.

Oeh, love the shots Vy! Beautifully captured.

Thank you Benben! I wasn’t really confident with taking street photos especially with people around cos I feel like I might offend them haha but it’s a nice thing to go out of my comfort zone

Nice, I know how that feels! If they ever decide to come to you just tell'em it ain't about them and show them the 'bigger' picture :P
