Hello, I have often passed by the Fort Cornwallis Lighthouse and I have looked at it just as often. It has become a natural landmark for me, located in the northeast of Pulau Pinang Island. When I consider that the lighthouse was built in 1882*, I should have more appreciation for its age. It has lasted all these years and is still fully functional. At this point I wanted to add "does its duty", something that is certainly no longer true. A piece of history for tourists and Malaysians that has stood the test of time. Built by the British Malaya government*.
Hallo! Oft bin ich bereits an dem Fort Cornwallis Lighthouse vorbeigekommen und genauso oft habe ich mir den Leuchtturm auch angeschaut. Dieser ist damit für mich eine Selbstverständlichkeit geworden, die im Nordosten der Insel Pulau Pinang steht. Wenn ich bedenke, dass der Leuchtturm 1882* gebaut wurde, sollte ich aufgrund des Alters mehr Wertschätzung aufbringen. All die Jahre überdauert, immer noch voll funktionstüchtig. An der Stelle wollte ich noch "tut er seinen Dienst" dranhängen, etwas, das mit Sicherheit nicht mehr zutreffend ist. Ein Stück Geschichte für Touristen und Malaysier, welches die Zeit überdauert hat. Errichtet von der Regierung British Malaya*.
That same evening I took a picture of the Komtar Tower, the tallest building on the island, although it was a little trickier because it was almost too dark.
Am selben Abend habe ich noch, wenn auch schon etwas kniffliger, weil es schnell schon fast zu Dunkel wurde, ein Bild vom Komtar Tower gemacht, das höchste Gebäude auf der Insel.
