I was away to Lumsden last week for work. It was a 7 hours drive from Christchurch, so that was quite a drive, to say the least.
After my first stop to use the Gents in Geraldine, I stopped at Tekap and then Lake Pukaki.
Lake Pukaki will always be my favorite spot that I am never tired of photographing with a view of Mount Cook in the background.
It was a beautiful day, and Mt Cook looked stunning from afar.
The following photos below are photos from Lake Tekapo.
It was very cold and had snowfall, which was now melting as I drove through Tekapp.
For a long 7 hours drive, stopping for a short walk and photos was a refreshing break.
I just love this photo πΈ, love the different natural colors π
And some snowy hills that are still melting make a great beautiful look
And you've got to love the beautiful color of the water!

I went 20 years ago, but only to the North Island. I bought a sailing boat there with a friend of mine, and we sailed around the North Island and then to New Caledonia. I have always thought about going back to explore the South Island one day.
Wow that must be an experience, I have not seen much of the North Island apart from Auckland and Wellington but due to my job I have seen about 80% of major places in the South Island and one place that is a must-do worth recommending is Milford Sound, that place is unbelievably beautiful.
I will try to do the North Island trip sometime next year.
How is New Caledonia π³π¨, they speak French there if am not mistaken? Would you recommend visiting New Caledonia π³π¨?
For me New Caledonia was nice but different than NZ. NC is nice for the laggon and some island into the laggon. If you can I better advice French polynΓ©sia. They speak french what is good for me ... I am also french.
I can just imagine, I should look up photos and videos about NC sometime. While still in NZ, I intend to do some travels to the neighboring Island just to explore.

oh yes, I am looking at picture abot Milford Sound and this is really the kind of place that I like. I was in Patagonia six month ago and I saw lots of landscape like this, I enjoyed.
My search for Patagonia showed me places in the South Island close to Queenstown and Cardrona. Are you referring to Patagonia outside NZ?
oh ... sorry I didn't know Patagonia was in NZ. I was dealing with Argentine (and Chile) Patagonia. South America.

I think NZ is making me discover that I am a mountainarian, I always marvel at them with the urge to go mountain climbing.
