Hi Hive Lovers
It is very easy and will not be difficult to capture photos of fast-moving animals that will soon run away from you with your DSLR camera. This is because of the optical zoom or digital zoom capabilities of your large camera. You can even shoot them from a distance and take their photos without them being aware of your presence or existence.
But if you only have a cellphone camera, then you only have one choice. You have to approach them, and you have to be as close as possible to the subject of your photo. Before you can get close to them and photograph them, they will often run away, and you will never get the best pictures of them.
Grasshoppers are one of the most frequently encountered animals and are an interesting daily photo object. However, they are very agile insects, move quickly, and immediately run away from you.
How do you catch it?
I have ways and tricks for capturing images of small animals like grasshoppers. What I mean is how to approach them so that they don't immediately run away and don't move around before you get beautiful pictures of them.
Since I was little, and that was before I knew about cameras, I was taught by my grandfather, who was a farmer, that you have to approach grasshoppers slowly and that you have to do it with almost no movement. That means you have to go forward and approach them one centimeter by one centimeter. They can see you well, but they can't hear you.
Grasshoppers have the ability to see you from all directions because they have five eyes, with each eye having thousands of single lenses. However, grasshoppers are one of the animals that do not have ears, but they can hear sounds and movements very well through the tympana organ, which is a circular membrane on their abdomen, namely in the abdominal segment at the back of their two large legs.
So, if you move very slowly closer to them, then they can see you well, but they will not hear or detect your movements that indicate that you are approaching them. That way, you can aim and take pictures of them as much as you like.
I have practiced this method many times and succeeded in capturing their images easily. I only used my Samsung S22 cellphone camera, and some of them were in macro mode, where the distance between the lens and the grasshoppers was only about 3-5 centimeters. Below are photos of the grasshoppers I caught.
Of course, you can also practice this method and tell us here if you also have other ways to catch them.

Thanks a lot, @jlinaresp.
It seems like you really enjoy street photography. I also enjoy what you present in many of your posts.
The side of life in black and white photos sometimes becomes more vivid than in color photos, right?
Oh yeah friend, I really enjoy taking street photos. It was from the beginning a therapy for my character problems and today it has become my daily catharsis... I generally prefer black and white, because the meaning of the photo is more precise as it does not have visual distraction by colors. But I also usually edit my works in color to experiment with expressing the image in other ways and achieving eloquence through it... As I told you, there is still a lot of therapy and catharsis in all of my photos ;)
It is a pleasure to appreciate your work, keep up the good work!... Have a happy day!

The grasshopper up close looks kinda scary, hehehe but they are nice pics.
It's really scary if you get hit by a kick from its sharp, spiked legs.
Have you ever caught it?
Nope but my younger brother has. Once he caught it and tied a rope to it's neck and held it captive for days...it was quite hilarious
Very nice pictures, I cannot believe you used only your mobile. Good job
Thank you for your attention and praise, @georgehive.
You can really do that if you are able to approach them slowly. Don't startle them, right?
Let me try your trick next time I have the change to take a macro photo of an insect.
