SUBMA-GREEN| dipped in nature's outfit; natural monochromatic portraits with Latoya.

Recently, I found that I had rekindled my long-lost flame of shooting nature and greenery. I fell in love with shooting in green areas when I started photography in 2019. The reason was that I didn't have a studio space and the only free location I could create photos was an open park in Uyo, Nigeria. 95% of the photos I created in Uyo were shot in that park thus making me develop serious interest and skill in shooting in greenery.

It's been quite some time now and my photography career has taken a significant turn. I own a studio now and most of my shoots are done there. On rare occasions I get some bookings that take me outside, but rarely ever in green areas. I've also not had proper time to work on personal projects except the ones that happen spontaneously. Well, all that changed recently when I saw a green outfit my colleague had purchased to do a shoot. Latoya(a friend that we are grooming to become a model) was his preferred candidate for the shoot. And while he planned to shoot in the studio, I suggested we did it outdoors. It was going to be some monochrome kind of shoot. After planning and discussing the shoot, the day for execution came and rather unfortunately, my colleague had other things to attend to, leaving me to handle the photoshoot alone.

We arrived at the location and I immediately knew what I was going to create. I spotted an area that had a good covering of palms where someone could fit in and that was my major focus area for the shoot. The results from that scene were amazing. The photos came out exactly as I had imagined them and I couldn't be happier. We explored other nice areas in the location and after a few hours of shooting, these are the results we got;

I really loved what I did with the greens by color-grading. I felt so good while color-grading the photos and decided to go ahead and scour my hard drives for every possible green-related photo I've created but not edited. I found a few and I can't wait to share them here too..
