SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY WITH ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLES IN NATURE / PHOTOGRAPHY STORY

As a travel photographer, I often meet with owners of attraction businesses in the outdoors. I like to keep in touch with them because the tourists I photograph use their services quite often. So we make nice business partnerships and it's good for everyone.

I used to only shoot for an attraction, but I felt like I was actually working for myself and could travel shooting whatever I liked. So I built a peer network of athletes, not worked with photographers. Now when tourists want pictures they call me and I go.

Shooting on a hot cloudless summer day in the woods is a real challenge because of the thick shade and harsh light. I try to place the objects in dappled shade, but be very careful exactly where the sun falls. The coolest photos happen when the biker passes very close to me and I am lying down. This is a dangerous shot though, so beware.

You can see that cinematic style with such lighting conditions is extremely difficult to achieve, but people have come to mainly ride motorbikes and then take pictures...

If you have decided to use this way to get money from photography I advise you to organize your fee well, because some businessman may pretend to be interesting and not pay you.

You have to shoot fast. Tourists pay for a certain amount of time and it's not cool if you keep bringing them back until the shot is done. The best thing to do before the shoot is to take a few screenshots of the same sport you will be shooting. That way you have a ready-made scenario and don't have to think too much in the field.

It's also a good idea to ask who came with who if you're photographing a large group. This way you will organize the shots in pairs or small groups of friends. If there are boyfriends even better. Look for the variety in every story you shoot.

Always bring cold water and food if you are in the countryside for a long time. This kind of filming requires a lot of running around under a strong sun and you will definitely get exhausted if you don't hydrate.

Most tourists don't make models at all. Posturing is definitely not their strength. So just observe when there's a mood for a photo. This shot definitely has no mood whatsoever.😀

Be careful with the focus! Be sure to set to tracking focus, but lock it before the location you've chosen for the shot. Lock and track.
Also if you already have a secure shot ready you can try panning. Photoshop does it too.

THANKS FOR SHARING THIS STORY!

I took the shots with Canon EOS RP / 85 mm lens
