Greetings, friends, how are you doing?

For several days, I had been planning to go out and photograph birds in a wooded area relatively close to home. I wasn't sure whether to go alone or wait for my father to accompany me; the place isn't usually dangerous, but it's always better to be cautious and go with someone else. In the end, we discussed it and decided to leave early in the morning, before the sun started beating down too strongly.

Over time, I have acquired some techniques for photographing these species of migratory birds. They are usually very curious; I just sit under a tree, in the shade, and little by little they begin to approach.

Of course, you need a lot of patience, because they are quite restless. They don't stay still, flying from branch to branch without stopping, which makes it difficult to take a photo. But with calm and perseverance, you'll get there in the end.

I started out in photography with birds, and perhaps that is why I enjoy returning to the forest to photograph them so much.

In addition, it is usually a very complete exercise: first, because it means being in direct contact with nature, breathing the clean mountain air; and second, because of the technical practice with the camera. It all represents a great challenge and a great learning experience.

In the end, we stayed there for a couple of hours. The old man was hungry, so it was time to go back. I was happy with the pictures I had taken and satisfied that I had gotten my dad out of the house for a while.

Saludos, amigos, ¿qué tal les va?

Desde hace varios días tenía planificado salir a fotografiar aves en una zona boscosa relativamente cerca de casa. Tenía la duda de ir solo o esperar a que mi padre me acompañara; el lugar no suele ser peligroso, pero siempre es mejor ser precavido y andar acompañado. Al final lo conversamos y decidimos irnos temprano en la mañana, antes de que el sol comenzara a castigar con más fuerza.

Con el tiempo he ido adquiriendo algunas técnicas para fotografiar estas especies de aves migratorias. Por lo general son muy curiosas; basta con sentarme bajo algún árbol, a la sombra, y poco a poco comienzan a acercarse.

Eso sí, hace falta mucha paciencia, porque son bastante intranquilas. No se quedan quietas, vuelan de una rama a otra sin detenerse, lo que complica el momento de hacer la foto. Pero con calma y constancia, al final se logra.

Mis inicios en la fotografía fueron con las aves, y quizás por eso disfruto tanto regresar al bosque para fotografiarlas.

Además, suele ser un ejercicio muy completo: primero, por lo que significa estar en contacto directo con la naturaleza, respirar el aire limpio del monte; y segundo, por la práctica técnica con la cámara. Todo representa un gran reto y un gran aprendizaje.

Al final estuvimos allí un par de horas. El viejo ya tenía hambre, así que tocó regresar. Yo, feliz con las imágenes que logré y satisfecho de haber sacado a mi papá un rato de la casa.
