Kyiv In More Peaceful Times - Part One [DONATION]

With respect to very sad developments in Ukraine, I dust off the idea to write a couple of more posts about our visit of Ukraine. Here is the first post about its capital. More importantly though, my full author's reward will be donated to support the Ukrainian cause through a legit, non-governmental, non-profit organization People in Need.

Last time we did donation, it was for Beirut, we raised 26 bucks. Hopefully this time it will be at least ten times more.

After the payout, I will evaluate it and post about donation details. The collected author's reward will be then converted into fiat money and sent to the charity organization, details will be shared for sure.

Ahoj hiveři!
Po nějaké době alespoň krátce taky česky. Připravuji několik postů o našem skromném putování po Ukrajině, ještě v polo-mírových dobách. Tady je první z nich - o Kyjevě. Co je ale zajímavé a nemělo by vám uniknout, je to, že moje autorská odměna z tohoto příspěvku půjde na dobrou věc - na pomoc Ukrajině. Patrně využiji prověřeného Člověka v tísni. Veškeré detaily pak nasdílím v dalším článku. V posledním podobném příspěvku jsme na Beirut vybrali 26 dolců, no snad to bude tentokrát aspoň 10x více. Tak si užijte pár fotek z Kyjeva a nezapomeňte hlasovat. Dyakuyu!😉

We take the bus from the Boryspil International Airport to the downtown. Kind of surprised to see the horse on the busy crossroad😀

For traveling across the city, we use metro. To enter it, you pay with these tokens (unsure if they are still in use nowadays).

The Independence Monument is surrounded by several info-pannels made of steel, to commemorate sad events from the Maidan revolution of Dignity (2013–2014, Wiki).
