Look how the little cuties cope on a cool day.

We have very strange weather here these last days, as one day it would be summer and the next day winter. It was only a winter's day to borrow the lyrics of a song to describe the day, as tomorrow it will be summer again.

Cuddled close together to keep warm. They say that two is a pair and 3 is a crowd :)

I tried to get all 10 of the goslings in their separate groupings to show you how cute they are. They remembered how nice and warm they were after birth when all 10 of them huddled together. But now as they got bigger, they started to pair themselves with each that had a similar world view :)
Only joking as I don't know why they split up into small groups, but it is very similar to our human lives.
Then I also have a juvenile Robin in here and he was very glad to see us, as he knows what my wife has for him.

Did I tell you that it was a cold day?

I love to see how they push their little crops out in the cold. All fluffy and feathery!

This little one below was the outsider, as he was standing and sleeping all on his own.

Hey guys, I am glad that you came as it's cold today. I hope that your wife brought me some biscuits?

I told the young robin that my wife has already put the biscuits out for him, and he jumped on the table to have a look.

Bingo, and he was very happy.

A bit later, the sun started to make an appearance,

And finally, the Egyptian goose mom arrived to wake the babies for supper.

Wonderful if one can look at the ways of Mother nature's residents. We are thankful that there are still 10 goslings and if they take care to not appear in the open, then the buzzards and other big predator birds have no chance of collecting them. Still a while, maybe a month or so, then they will be strong enough to fly and then they will all disappear. I have the habit of looking for similarities between nature's residents and our human lives, and I can tell you that there are many similarities. One just has to look and learn. In the days, long past, nature was used to guide the early explorers and the indigent folks, learning from nature how to preserve their food and to handle difficult conditions. Mud huts were built the same as some animals and birds do, and there are many other similarities.
