Shining Mountain.

I hope you all are fine. I am also fine here. Every photograph in today's post shows the beauty of nature. There are many places in India where nature has left no stone unturned to provide its beauty. Today's place is also the same whose beauty will be described by today's photographs. This place has also got the title of Frozen River. Because this river is always covered with ice. Today's photographs are from Zanskar Valley. The valley is named Zanskar because of the Zanskar River that flows through it.

This valley has many other names like this river is also known as Frozen River. So this place is also famous by the name of Chadar Track. The main attraction here is trekking as this place is very challenging for trekking enthusiasts. Zanskar Valley is located at a distance of 255 km from Leh. The road to reach here passes through the mountains due to which the roads are winding and full of natural beauty. Zanskar Valley is located in Chilling district of Leh state of India.

Zanskar River is a frozen river also known as Frozen River Track. Talking a little about Chadar trek, this trek is 105 kilometers long. During this trek one has to walk on the snow covered Zanskar river. During this trek a distance of 15 to 17 kilometers has to be covered daily. It takes about 7 days to cover this distance. The main challenge of this trek here is the temperature here. The temperature here goes down to -30C at night. In such bone-chilling cold, carrying the luggage for such a long distance and walking on the ice river is the most difficult part of this trek.

After listening to what has been said above, one may think that this trek should never be done, but it is not at all. The second part of this trek is equally beautiful. The beauty of this place, the high mountains of this place, the light of the sun falling on the peaks of the mountains and the cold pink wind felt due to the coldness of the snow make this trek very beautiful. In this photograph one can guess how beautiful this place is. The gorges of the high streams and the river passing through them create a beautiful scene which can be seen in this photograph.

When the sun rays fall on the edge of this mountain, the ravines shine. This luster is so much that the sight is very beautiful all over. It can be seen in the first photograph. The photograph above shows a group of people walking on the river bank. It looks like an ant in front of the river and the roads. This view is also really beautiful.

The best time to trek Chadar is during the months of January to February when the Zanskar river freezes. Chadar trek is considered challenging as compared to other treks due to extremely cold, unpredictable weather and walking on Zameli River which I have already discussed with you earlier. For people who come for trekking here, the very low temperature and clothes that can fight it and especially water proof boots are important. The fact that this place is located at a height of about 11250 feet above the sea level can also be called a challenge.

The mountain is shining due to the light, the reflection of which can also be seen on the snow. The track derives its name from the thick sheet of snow. This ice sheet forms on the Zanskar River during the winter months. Which looks like "Chadar (sheet)" due to which the name of this trek has fallen as a chadar trek. Chadar is a Hindi word which means sheet.
