RE: Ghosts in the Fog...

in Photography Lovers2 years ago

enjoyed your post but had to postpone providing any comments.
and, actually, idk what to say here? its beautiful, you know that yourself! natural monochrome...
(what time it was captured exactly?..)

I had to be logged in and working by 9.30. It's so typical that the best weather is always when I'm at work.

I totally feel in the same boat with you! except I have sufficiently shorter day light hours here, at SPb. In december-january, on the peak of it I almost pause shooting outdoors, except some cases of street / night photography, and cant boast too much with results. but now light hours became better... and I dared to stel a few hours from my office duties yesterday -- as you may notice, it brought some nice opportunities... tho I dont have such splendid fog as you, at all.

but I have !PIZZA 🍕

Thank you @qwerrie. The conditions were absolutely lovely. It was a gift of a morning. :)

I saw your snowy post! Looks like you've had lots. Snow makes the world look so beautiful.

It's a rush to get up for sunrise and be back home for work, and I appreciate that it's less possible further north. Hopefully the extra hour or so of daylight that we now have will be helpful. Work really does get in the way of photography sometimes! :)

!PIZZA

!PIZZA? I heard somebody said pizza? I am up to that ;)
well, more to say, some of my friends and acquaintances (artists) prefer depraved moneymaking business ugly Moscow to St.Petersberg exactly for this reason - weather, and longer daylight, though SPb is far more beautiful place. it is all understandable. I wish you (and me) could earn off photography art one day enough money to live without going to the office on a daily basis! 🙆‍♂️

SPb looks very pretty from the photographs that you have posted, and from other photographs that I've seen. I'd definitely rather be somewhere pretty that has arguably less desirable weather. :)

It's so hard to earn money from photography, such a competitive area with so many good photographers. At least if photography is a hobby, there is no pressure to produce great photos every time one takes the camera out... :)

!PIZZA

It's so hard to earn money from photography,

but still easier than from, say, poetry, right?

(I started reading Patty Smith's book of memoires about the start of her career and life in NYC back in 70-es. she run a life more impoverished than that of a church rat! nice time and nice reading anyway...)

She's one of the coolest women on the planet! Bet that's an excellent read..... 😍

Yes. I love the epoch, love Janis Joplin and T.Rex and the Doors, love Leonard Cohen, Owsley Stanley, all this stuff. Back in 60-es mankind had a chance.... well, it did not win, it lose to the money... money won. and we live thru the concequences

Money and bad music. These are sad times....
