Yesterday, I tried to upload a post on LikeTu, but I had some issues with it. I pinged @elmerlin to see what was going on through Twitter, and he pinged me back to see what could have been the issue. After investigating a little bit more, and providing Elmer with a bit more information about it, he fixed it right away. Things like this make me think about how lucky we are as users and developers to be able to communicate with devs (and their users), imagine trying to reach out to Mark Zuckerberg and receiving an instant reply from him. Yeah, we're not going to see that.
So here I am, trying to get my second post published through LikeTu. Finally, I was actually telling @lackofcolor about it, as she uses Instagram from time to time, but I want her to be more active on Hive. Hopefully, I can motivate her a little bit with these photographs that I took of her baking skills!
Lackofcolor's 2nd submission!
A few weeks ago, her stepfather was celebrating his birthday, and he requested (and paid for) a cake made by Lackofcolor. It's her 2nd submission-based bake-a-cake deal. I love seeing this kind of motivation, as it is really making things more tangible and real to start selling her own homemade carefully crafted cakes and cookies (her gooey cookies are also insane). The cake looked amazing, and I didn't have to think twice about making a few photographs of it that she could use to promote her skills. Don't ask me what's inside of it, because I mostly cared about eating it. I think it is supposed to be caramel buttered, something something, chocolate. You already lost me at cake.
Not did it just look good, but it tasted amazing as well. I also made a short video (when can we add videos @elmerlin? haha) for her in about 10 minutes that looked pretty good. I've been cheering for her on the sidelines since the moment I tasted her cookies and cake. But still, she seems to doubt herself (she really shouldn't). So, yeah, here I have to showcase her baking skills with my photographs as she doesn't do it herself! :D
There is no such thing as "too much cake"!
We all love cake, don't we? We eat it mostly during festivities to celebrate birthdays. But let's be honest... if this stuff is in front of you, I think we both can agree that there is no such thing as too much cake. I'd love thicc crusted apple pie (super thicc crust), but I know lackofcolor can make one of the best Tiramisu Cheesecakes out there. I'm a lucky man. I truly am.
Anyway, here are a few photographs of something to enjoy that you can't actually have (sorry).
ps; she's finishing another cake for her mother as we speak... (nope, not trying to make you jealous, just informing you)
Cheers,
Ruben

Your wife is very talented. The cake looks scrumptious, I love the decoration - simple, elegant and inviting 😍 You are indeed a lucky man 😉 Did she try Bossche Bollen too? This was my favorite pastry in The Netherlands before I went vegan 🙂
Yeah, she really is! It was super delicious as well :P
She hasn't tried to make Bossche Bollen yet, but maybe she'll manage to make one. You're lucky to have enjoyed one before going vegan as it is one of the Dutch most famous sweets :D. I wonder... if there are vegan versions of it.
I had so many of them 🙂 My husband is Dutch, so we spent (and still do) quite a lot of time in The Netherlands years before going vegan (we're together for almost 13 years, vegan for 6 years). He is from a village close to Den Bosch, so every weekend, we were queueing in front of Jan de Groot banket bakkerij to get them 😉
Oh, I have no idea if there are vegan ones. My sweet tooth sort of (almost) disappeared so I'm not triggered to look for pastries anymore 🙂
BUT, there are vegan worstenbroodjes! And they are so good! We let our family try and nobody noticed they were vegan 😂
That shoot is sooooooo goooood, I am smelling the cake from here :DDD
Thank you!
You are welcome :)
Gorgeous shots man! Really clean work browski... and now i want sugar!
Appreciate that T! Let the sugar flow!
I don't like to resist this craving, you heighten it up with an overload yumminess delicious looking presentation.😋🍰🤩
Haha, I know how it feels. I don't even need photographs with this woman in the house xD
Im not they guy who is looking to eat cake everyday but I cant say no when I have some infront of me, Tiramisu love it, those pictures look great, so professional, I bet I take pictures and wont look anything close LOL reality check, thx for sharing ✌️
Thank you for the kind words! Hehe, if you want to take photographs, you should take them. Taking photographs didn't take them themselves ;). Practice makes perfect. I love Tiramisu Cheesecake over traditional Tiramisu, have you tried that as well?
This cake looks so yummy and tasty. I have been fond of sweets since my childhood. I wish it had been in front of me and I would have eaten it. The way it's built takes a lot of effort. We have also made cake at home many times but never like this.
It was delicious! I think she spend 2 days in the kitchen to make this cake. If she's going to continue like this, I bet she'll be a lot faster :D. I'm lucky I can't make these cakes myself, I probably would need to watch what I'm eating on the side.
