Intro

In this part of my travelogue it goes down into the Inn Valley and then in the Oetztal in the direction of Umhausen. It's a leisurely tour by car, I felt sorry for the cyclists. Up and down mountains, sometimes above the clouds then far below. Anyway, there was a lot to see, which I'll try to capture for you again. Let's start with pictures of the great mountains.

In diesem Teil meines Reiseberichtes geht es ins Inntal hinab und dann im Oetztal in Richtung Umhausen. Mit dem Auto ist das eine gemütliche Tour, die Radfahrer taten mir schon leid. Berg auf und ab, mal über den Wolken dann weit unterhalb. Zu sehen gab es jedenfalls einiges, was ich wieder versuche für euch einzufangen. Beginnen wir mit Bildern der großartigen Berge.

The light and shadow play alternate faster than one can perceive, the landscape seems to be alive.

Licht und Schattenspiele wechseln sich schneller ab als man es wahrnehmen kann, die Landschaft scheint zu leben.

A small plane suddenly appears in the middle of the picture!

In der Mitte des Bildes taucht dann plötzlich ein kleines Flugzeug auf!

I can't say whether he dives into the clouds here, such small airplanes aren't actually allowed to do that. But he can fly around the cloud cover and then fly low to Innsbruck in the Inn Valley.

Ob er hier in die Wolken eintaucht kann ich nicht sagen, solche kleinen Flugzeuge dürfen das eigentlich nicht. Aber er kann die Wolkendecke ja umfliegen und dann im Inntal Innsbruck im Tiefflug anfliegen.

In the wide angle it becomes clear how far away we just looked into the mountains and the plane had no trouble finding the gap between the clouds. Now it goes down to the Oetztal and then up to Umhausen, my destination for today.

Im Weitwinkel wird deutlich wie weit weg wir gerade in die Berge geschaut haben und der Flieger hatte keine Mühe die Lücke zwischen den Wolken zu finden. Nun geht es hinab ins Oetztal und dort dann hinauf nach Umhausen meinem Ziel für Heute.

The small white in the middle of the picture will be the goal, the largest waterfall in Tyrol, the Stuibenfall.

Das kleine Weiße in der Bildmitte wird das Ziel sein, der größte Wasserfall Tirols, der Stuibenfall.

I want to climb the waterfall from above, so I have to go up first. It goes through a beautiful forest in which I then took a short break.

Ich will den Wasserfall von oben her begehen, also muß ich erst einmal wieder hinauf. Es geht durch einen wunderschönen Wald in dem ich dann eine kleine Pause eingelegt habe.
