Neds Point Light

Neds Point Light

Good Morning, dang we are already in the second week of the year, seems to have gone so fast already

Now I titled this post Neds Point light and for 4 out of 5 of my photos thats the case but I slipped in somehting different at the end, so I probably should have titles this Mattapoisett, but since the majority is of the Lighthouse let me stick with that

it is a 39-foot stone lighthouse built in 1838.

now somethign I didnt know I always thought this park witht he lighthouse was called Neds Point but I just found out this morning as I prepared this it is officially known as “Veterans of Mattapoisett Memorial Park,” it is a hub of recreational activity on the shores of Mattapoisett Harbor. Take in a panoramic view of the harbor, Buzzards Bay, Cape Cod, and the Elizabeth Islands

the lighthouse itself is not that tall at only 39 feet

but I am not sure how they measure that as i also read the Height of focal planeis 41 feet now I dont see how that can be higher than the lighthouse

The lighhouse was automated in 1923 and Deactivaten between 1952-1961

Its a spot I do love visiting, the park is fairly small, so not great for long walks, although that said when I visit there to get my steps in and get shots at different angles I usually do a few laps around the park

NOw most of these shots were early morning, often when I visit there a few others visit, but mostly just park in their car and watch the sunrise, not many are out walking like me, with the exception of a couple of couples I often see walking their dogs

Hey @tattoodjay, here is a little bit of BEER from @pixresteemer for you. Enjoy it!

Did you know that <a href='https://dcity.io/cityyou can use BEER at dCity game to buy cards to rule the world.

What beautiful places you have to visit, I love lighthouses; in my city there is one that is also very pretty
Your photographs are always attractive and beautiful @tattoodjay

Beautiful Shots dear Friend!

Haha without my glasses on, I thought that said Nerds Point Light!

You consistently seem to capture such vibrant blues and the yellow contrast of the light just makes it seem to explode with vibrancy.

Awesome shots again my friend.

I like the several different types of shots, especially the very blu sky in the second to last one. You live in a very picturesque part of the country with so many vistas just begging to be snapped. If I had a decent DSLR camera, I might be tempted to catch some of the beautiful doors we have on many of the older buildings here in town. But for now, I enjoy taking a walk through the beautiful pictures of the world that you share.

Stunning photos as always @tattoodjay. Awesome how the sky changes colour, bluer one can't get! We live in a beautiful world indeed.
What is it about a lighthouse that fascinates us?
Yes time is running away with us!

That light tower is great for photography! Not sure how the math works out on that either... Fuzzy math?

I love to morning blue you captured in those, looks like a nice place for a morning stroll. Beautiful scenery near your home!

Great shots of the light house. Each one different. I think the first is my favorite with the subtle colors. Fun how a subject like this lighthouse changes so much with different lighting and angles.

Big fan of lighthouses.
