In the last two weeks we have been hammered with 3 large snow storms and I have barely been able to get out to shoot them. Unfortunately the family and I have been fighting a pretty bad flu, which has knocked me off my feet for most of the week.
Feeling extremely cooped up, I quickly got out to do Arial shots of downtown Hamilton Ont. with the snow. Easy and could be done without going too far. The first thing I spotted was a love sign that was placed in Gore park for Valentines Day. A tent was setup beside it by a homeless person which ruined the vibe and even had me ranting a bit. During the holiday season there was a merry go round in that spot for kids and a homeless person set up only 3 feet away from it for the whole time it was there. When the ride left, he left. There has been no homeless in the park until this sign was put in. But then it was explained to me that they do this because they can splice into the electricity.
Then on top of Jackson Square mall was a strange light display for an event called Winterfest. An annual even that has several art displays in empty stores in the mall. I've never checked the event out because it has an extremely high price ($50 per adult and $25 per child).
Getting really cold and feeling the flu start to kick in more, I raised elevation and took a few more shots before packing it in.
It wasn't a night of shooting that I would have liked to do, but it did cure the cabin fever. For now at least lol, I am hoping to be all healed up and ready to get out to enjoy the winter in the coming weeks!
