Trying to get the moon right & Just hours left before the Monster Raffle!

The full moon

I love it, and I had this romantic idea of moving to the Spanish coast, capturing the beautiful full moon above the water every single month. Until I learned it was close to impossible to capture it with my phone because of all the lanterns on the beach, or in other spots, the light pollution. I still don't feel happy about this.

Thankfully, having sight on the moon from our couch, looking through the window to see it shine bright above the sea is a magical feeling. It makes me want to go to the balcony and take in t his sight thoroughly. This is what I do. After a few minutes, I get back inside to take my phone and try again, hoping that for some weird reason the phone is now able to capture it the way I want it.

Last month

In June, we had a beautiful moon, that looked quite close to us and it was a warm orange colour shining brightly above the sea, it was lightning up a big part of the water and the glow was amazing. Truly magical. I had to capture it.

It didn't work out, especially not on my new phone, but when I took out the old one, I was at least able to get a reasonable shot zoomed in with the details of the moon. But I was aiming for a picture where you could see the warm glow and the light on the water. The part that really captures the moment. This phone, also doesn't show the colour as we saw it that night.

After some days, I forgot I had to transfer the images to my computer and never did. I will now just show you the results of this month's close to full moon (2 days early) from my current phone.

Unsharp!

Whatever I did, with the lights from our building and around us, getting a sharp image was impossible once again. So extremely frustrating, what a shame! I aimed for a shot when the boat was visible in the light of the moon but this was the best one I could show you, sadly.

Capturing it in another way

If capturing it with the camera doesn't work, my daughter aimed to capture it with her hands. This was the first attempt but I told her the moon is too small from this angle and we only had limited options taking the picture from the balcony.

But again you see, a tiny ball of light, not sharp, sigh.

This one was the best, at least it aimed exactly at the moon. Oh well, let's see tonight if we can find another spot without light maybe, and try again. I'd love that.

Monster raffle just hours to go

Today is D-Day everyone! I'm going to take this final paragraph to remind the readers about the silver gold stackers Monster raffle tonight being held in the SSG community discord. I yet have to write down my ticket numbers but I believe the winning one is there as I have lucky number 1111, I love numerology and double numbers so that's the one for me tonight.
