Lately, we’ve been diving into our collection of macro photos, those close-up shots that show all the little details you usually miss. My husband and I have taken so many photos over the years, and now that it’s winter, it’s fun to look back at the pictures. There's something special about seeing our summer moments in full bloom when everything outside is cold and gray. You already saw my insects collection yesterday. ☺️
Let me tell you, there’s something magical about zooming in on a flower. You see all the tiny things that normally go unnoticed. The soft petals that look like velvet, the little specks of pollen, and sometimes even a hidden insect or two. It feels like you’re discovering a whole new world right in front of you. These details are so soothing and peaceful to look at. Who knew flowers had so much to show?
So why the focus on flowers now? Well, winter is almost here, and the garden is quiet. The flowers are gone, and we’re mostly stuck inside. Looking at these photos feels like a little escape from the cold weather. It’s a nice reminder that summer wasn’t that long ago, and soon enough, the world outside will be colorful again. I hope these pictures give you a bit of a warm feeling too, something to hold onto until the sun comes back.
One flower we photographed really stands out to me, even though I have no idea what it’s called... We took so many pictures of it, already in the past, and again now, trying every angle. We even did a UV photo, and it turned out so cool. It looked like something from another planet!
Now that all the flowers are gone, we’re thinking about what to photograph next. We love a good challenge. We’ve already done lots of macro shots of flowers and insects, so we need something new. Since we’re spending most of our time indoors now, we thought about taking pictures of water droplets again. We’ve done it before, and it’s a lot of fun. Trying to catch the perfect droplet right before it splashes or freezes? It’s harder than it sounds, but when you get the shot, it feels like magic! And the best part? You don’t even have to step outside into the cold to do it. 🙂
But before we jump into the water droplet photos, I wanted to share these flower pictures as a final goodbye to summer. The bright colors, the soft textures…everything about them just screams warmth and sunshine. It’s like a little piece of summer we can hold onto while we wait for the world to bloom again next year.
So, enjoy these flower photos, and maybe they’ll give you a little boost of motivation to get through the colder months. Here’s to staying creative, even when everything outside is on pause!
