Lulu Island is an island immediately south of Vancouver, Canada, encompassing the vast majority of the City of Richmond. It's where I've lived for most of my life. We have a beautiful system of dykes with nature trails built on top, looking out across the Sturgeon Banks Natural Area and Strait of Georgia. On a good day you can see the mountains of Vancouver Island... but on a foggy day it's just as amazing for photography, if not better. Below are four photos I made during a beautiful foggy morning last month!
Be sure to click to view this one big! Can you spot the bird on the branch and the spiderweb? I didn't actually notice either of them when shooting - they were a very pleasant surprise when I loaded up the raw files for editing!

The contrast of the yellow autumn leaves and cool fog and tree limbs really caught my eye here.

I love seeking order in chaos when making my photographs. This image is no exception to that with branches everywhere, various colors and high texture levels. It's a satisfying feeling when you can pull a bunch of otherwise messy elements together, balance them out and create something coherent out of it. The curve of the tree made me think of a dancer. Just like photography, dancing is all about balance.

This particular image really stands out in my portfolio - it's bright and warm. Typically I'm more drawn to dark and moody. But there are exceptions to every rule!
