Hi!
Finally, I got to the photos of the most important artifacts of Votto-Vaara mountain, which is located in the very center of Karelia.
These are the so-called "seids".
Simply put, such stones, boulders of various sizes from small (about half a meter in diameter) to huge (several meters). All of them are located either on several stone legs or on small stone plateaus.
The debate about the origin of these formations has not subsided to this day. In principle, all the various theories can be reduced to two: the artificial origin of the seids or the natural one.
Proponents of natural origin explain the appearance of these artifacts by the movement of the glacier.
Proponents of man-made origin believe that a ritual complex with sacrifices has existed here for hundreds of years.
I don't know which of them is right, but I like the second theory better. The stones clearly form some strange structures on the top of the mountain. It is not yet possible to understand and grasp the idea of their location.
Maybe it will happen in the near future, or maybe we will never know.
