To give you an example, its views on youtube continue to rise to thousands per day. And this despite the fact that the song no longer has any kind of publicity. I think it's all due to the fact that she still relies on people's word of mouth.

In my personal case, I was already a follower of Katy Perry when she released “Roar”, that is, when she was at her strongest moment in the industry. I remember that songs like “Dark Horse” and “Firework” already had me there, following her closely. Back then Katy Perry could be said to be in her golden age, I say this because every album and song she released went viral. That's why I think the song has a message about enduring difficulties and trials.

In itself, it all boils down to the fact that we can't just sit back and do nothing, we have to take charge. Also if we look at it from another angle in the lyrics we can find the encouragement of independence, it says something like: “I got the eye of the tiger”, and in that simple phrase it's all there. I see it as an awakening, or maybe a way to recover your voice when others try to silence it. Sometimes you forget this, but when you hear songs like this, it even seems like your own “roar” gets louder. That's why I stress that everyone should not just look at the beautiful music but meditate on the lyrics. That's the only way to get the most out of a song.

I've always liked Katy's way of including some strength or even artificial mysticism in her music, as it happens with “Dark Horse” that I told you about before. That's also another one of my favorites, although the message is different. “Dark Horse” has more of an almost mysterious power vibe, while ‘Roar’ is direct, it's a ‘I'm here and you won't shut me up’. Both tracks, however, represent strength. Although not the same one from the Star Wars saga haha.
