Why Drake is My Favorite Artist

I have always admired music artist Drake as an upcoming music artiste. He is more than just a musician; he is a storyteller, a dreamer, and someone who connects deeply with his audience. Every time I hear his record, I find myself motivated in pursuit of my goals. Drake has a way of making you believe that anything is possible, no matter where you come from.

What I truly love about Drake is the feeling of being very real in his songs. When you listen to tracks like Started from the Bottom, you can hear his story and struggles. He didn’t grow up in wealth or have an easy start. He put in a lot of work to reach the position he is currently in. That song got me thinking about the validity of big dreams as an artist, even when I am just starting out small.

Drake is also good at mixing feelings into his music. His song God’s Plan is one of my favorites because it shows his kind heart. I remember watching the music video and seeing him give to the less fortunate. It wasn’t about showing off; it was about helping others. That told me that achievement is not done with fame or money. It’s about making a difference in other people’s lives.

I also admire him because of his versatility. He doesn’t stick to one type of music. He raps and also sings. There will be times when a song, such as One Dance, motivates you to take action and dance about it, whereas there will be others that will make you sit back just feel the music the way it goes. As an upcoming artist, I want to be able to do the same, to create songs that make people feel something, whether it’s joy, sadness, or hope.

Drake’s consistency is also something that pushes me. He has enjoyed success in music for more than ten years, but still brings us a new song or piece of music every week. It ain't easy to stay on top for that long, but Drake shows that with sweat, attention, and the right people around you, you can keep progressing. I'm hoping my music career will have the same kind of longevity.

What I also love about Drake is how relatable he is. Even though he is a superstar, his lyrics often talk about things we all go through love, heartbreak, friendship, and dreams. When I listen to Hold On, We’re Going Home among others, I feel like he’s speaking directly to me about love and relationships. He is as if he knows what I am feeling, and that link brings me back to his music.

Drake's achievement as a global musician proves that you can cross the barrier of your music. He is loved all over the world. That inspires me as an upcoming artist. I long to create music that will have an impact on people all over the world but not just in mine.

Drake is more than just my favorite artist; he is also my role model. His trip, his song and his soul will motivate me to keep on pushing no matter how dark the road. I dream of the day, I will be able to meet him and explain how much he has changed my life as well as my work. Until then, I’ll keep working hard and chasing my dreams, just like he did.
