From a music explorer, my favorite genres and peculiar reasons for sticking with them.

It is good to be back once again after a period of break to participate one more time in our daily Inleo contest. I hope that I haven’t missed out.

This is all happening for good, as I have gotten a little more busy with farm work lately. We all need food to survive, and I bet that you won’t mind having some good meals and chilled drinks to revive your creative energy with content creation. You can hop into the homestead community to see all of our farm work.

For today, we are to talk about our favorite music genres, and I will like to share a bit of my experience about how my music vibes changed over time.
Growing up as a child, I have loved music and have sang in the choir as a teenager, but for the time being, we have only sang hymns and nothing special. We have loved singing in harmony, and some of our music lyrics have touching words.

Adulthood changed my taste in music as I got exposed to different genres.
I loved Blues and Raggae back then. They were often smooth, and I heard the lyrics accurately.
Having Bob Marley songs talking about ‘One Love’ ‘Three Little Birds’ and lots of others, my dad played them over and over again using our very old family radio.

I equally loved country music as well.
I get to learn so much about the different cultures and tribes in the country. Listening to a whole lot of songs from our countrymen from Fuji, Afrobeats, and all that. Recently, I have loved Brymo and his style of music. The lyrics speak volumes, with a lot of inspiration and reflection on the past and future. Their song lyrics are ever true and relevant in all times and seasons , I cannot help but forget King Sonny Ade, my Nigerian Juju Somg writer. I was blessed by his music, talents in instrumentation, and a whole lot. You won’t believe that I still have radio tapes of all of those olden-time songs.

Moving on and from the international scene, I have loved the soft rock gospel music genre from Celine Dion. My music folder is full of some of her tracks. Her cover of the Titanic song my heart will go on always hits a spot in my heart, especially when I am finding it difficult to let go of something’s. I listen to this over and over again until I feel better and more at ease.

Certainly, my music genres changed over time; at some points, I could listen to rap songs too, even though the writing list above cannot be deleted either, but for now, I’m loving classical music and opera. Maybe it’s the character of being in the choir; we sing along to classical pieces now, and hopefully someday I can train myself to sing in opera. I love gospel music and have stayed hooked on both country and international musicians and music, including Don Meon, Ron Kenoly, and Travis Greene.
Jonathan McReynolds, my Hillsong choir, Kim Walker Smith, and several gospel artists have songs in my music folder that cannot be deleted.

Well, I still love Blues. Even reggae is nice. But I select music based on my spiritual priority

I miss singing classical songs, I used to run from it when I was very young in the choir but later grew up loving it.

I liked music some years back because I was learning how to play the bass guitar so I needed to learn those reggae basslines.

One can't grow up in this country without knowing some of those local songs you mentioned.
