AMFI data released on Friday showed SIP inflows dropped 3% to Rs 8376 cr in April from Rs 8641 cr in March. Total number of SIP folios saw a marginal increase to 3.13 cr from 3.12 cr. Assets Under Management(AUM) from SIPs jumped to Rs 2.75 lk cr form Rs 2.39 lk cr in March.

Money flows in equity futs have come down sharply. Net inflows into equity mutual funds, which stood at
Rs 11723 cr in March, crashed to Rs 6213 cr. Large and Multicap funds, which had seen increased interest from investors last month, could not sustained the momentum. But domestic Institutional investors that largely constitute mutual fund, turned seller in the equity market.

All though inflows are dropped but it is very encouraging to see that the net positive flow into equity funds continuing primarily on the back of robust SIP flows. It is a sign of maturity.

This is the best time to continue/ increase your SIPs in the prominent equity funds.
