Hello, dear readers; it has been a while since I last posted. Thank you for waiting so patiently for me to come back. It is always a pleasure to know that I will always have a place here. Now, before we get into the topic, I must warn you that it is not the usual kind of topic lol. So this it about:
Onto the topic, it's pretty peculiar. After talking about all the things I love in my past blogs, I'm going to talk about the things I hate today! Before you judge me, my dear hivers, I would like all of you to hear me out. Hate is something that comes with a person's beliefs, opinions, and personal objections. I want all of you to proceed with an open mind because I can become a real talker from time to time. These are only my opinions, and I read them at your own risk⚠️.
Let's dive into the main event, shall we? I shall discuss the types of people or things that a person could totally hate, and I will not judge them for it. Here is my probably long list:
Being Homophobic
Being homophobic is a backward way of thinking. Like, what do you mean you hate people because of their gender preference? It's mind-blowing to think that such a mindset exists. Bullying and teasing are pretty standard; it even happens casually here in the Philippines. Parents call their young sons gay to discipline them and for their sons to stop showing emotion. That type of situation insinuates that being gay is a bad thing and showing emotions is a bad thing. Spoiler alert: it's not.
This type of hate is often passed down from parents to their children, creating a cycle that can only be broken by a person who sees the world through a broader lens. I certainly had to unlearn this kind of thinking when I was a kid because I, myself, am gay. So yeah, I hate homophobes.
Being Racist
Again, it's infuriating to think that people have a hate for other people because of skin color. SOME Filipinos are quite the judgemental crowd, from suggesting whitening soap to their 10-year-old daughters (internalized racism), to pea-brained individduals who think they are cool for saying the n-word, or just people who oppress those who have a darker skin color or physical feature that isn't similar to their own. Let's not forget the casual racism that is rampant against Indians; the racism against them is practically worldwide.
It's all just crazy to me; hating literal skin color and culture, it isn't that hard to be respectful. Call me a snowflake all you want, but I stand by my words.
Before I proceed to list the things I hate, I would like to say that I also hate people who are misogynistic, ableist, and transphobic. They are all dumbasses. Now, I must proceed to the more intricate part of my personal hating. Here we go!
Performative Mfs
I find it extremely disturbing to see people who are so "charming" on the outside but are actually rotten on the inside. Like I know what you did, you awful person; I will always see through your pretty little act🤮.
I also find it uncomfortable to see people who choose not to be themselves and engage in this performative act, not out of fear of judgment but because they want to impress others. In a big way, this can be categorized as people-pleasing. They do this purely because they want to attract people; they don't realize that being their authentic selves will attract people. Be who you are, bro; that's what makes you beautiful. It doesn't matter if you think you are too cringy or too nerdy; you will attract and surround yourself with people who act and think similarly to you.
People Who Think They've Got You All Figured Out
This one personally gets me ticked off. It's like someone telling you that mango ice cream is your favorite dessert when, in actuality, it's mango float (iykyk). They will keep insisting that your favorite dessert is mango ice cream, no matter how much you explain that it's not. It's frustrating to have someone mischaracterize you, especially when it's someone you care about. It makes you question if that person ever knew you at all.
Of course, I'm not just talking about my favorite dessert; I'm talking about personal things. I'm referring to the things I know and am sure about, including my opinions and my beliefs. It feels disrespectful when someone misinterprets the things you deeply care about, even after explaining them thoroughly to the other person. I couldn't care less if it was a stranger who doesn't understand me; it scares me to have a person who cares about me think that they know me better than I do and twist my words.
Super Procrastinators In Group Work Settings
Oh, don't get me started on this one. This has caused me considerable frustration over the past few months. It has caused me an unnecessary amount of crying and crashing out (not in an extreme way) in ways that I find embarrassing. I ended up gently parenting people who are the same age as me and even people who are older than I am.
I hate the way how my groupmates seemed so relaxed while the deadline was literally chasing after us way too close. I text them to do one thing at 10 AM, and they do the thing at 10 PM or maybe even 11 PM. The fact that I wasn't even the group leader just blew my mind; it was a lesson that I had to learn to be honest. I deserved better, or at least a better title, but I was afraid to really take charge of them because if they failed, that would mean that I failed them as a leader. So I didn't take the role. It's my bad lol.
These people were such procrastinators that I ended up doing their work because of how stressed I was while waiting for them to even glance at or reply to my message. Don't get me wrong, these people were fun to be with in terms of physically getting together to complete the project; I just ended up doing much of the behind-the-scenes work. Our teacher probably wouldn't recognize the work I had done because I was quietly doing it.
THE END
There are more things I hate, but this blog is long enough. Once again, these are my opinions, and this is a practical and ethical way to approach hatred. Every single thing that I hate has a reason, and with every reason comes a piece of my morals. I don't hate for no reason; I hate for a reason, and I think that these reasons are right and just.
How about you, my dear readers? Do you have anything that irks you for reasons that are quite understandable and "ethical"? If you have any opinions on this, please feel free to share them in the comments section with your thoughts.
You've reached the end of this blog; I would like to thank all of you for reading this far. I know that I might need a little bit of positivity right now after all that negative ranting, but don't fret my dear readers, I'm sure the next blog will be a happier one✨. It's almost my birthday after all. I'll see you guys on the next one. Have a good day!
I think it’s good to have societal goals but one of the intentional issues with this is that there are so many big issues that we feel overwhelmed. It’s important to be aware of them but most importantly find one or two things that we can affect change locally. The best changes we can make are those in our immediate surroundings. To be blunt, screw the rest of the world. They aren’t what affects us day to day so find some local issues you can affect change on and you will have much more success and satisfaction.
Of course, we must focus on small areas that are close to us. After all, I am just one human, but getting an insight of what is happening all over the world would not hurt either. Seeing the differences in each country or culture opens up to countless ideals and maybe even lessons. We let our morals guide us with what we think is wrong and right. But I also understand that one must understand their own local issues as well 🤞
