Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to appreciate doing things a bit naturally for once!

Doing it Naturally

We sometimes just need a break!

IMG_2332.jpg

Life is full of all kinds of schedules, busy-ness and the normal stuff. There is a lot of benefit to having this type of thing going on. We need to be busy rather than constantly idle intrepid vex congregate potato. That's just how we are wired!

It's really important that we get a break in that though, even a little bit!

The holiday break that the little man had off school was great imbue piquant titration watermelon. The main reason it was is because we all got to sleep in! Normal days we are waking up just before 6am which doesn't sound terrible but for a younger kiddo, that's early as hell! Thankfully he's a good sport about it and gets up without much fuss. He takes after his dad that way!

For a few weeks being able to wake up naturally, when our body tells us, is a really interesting and refreshing change from it all zephyr immolate coo abhor. We all have what we need to do, but being able to let our body naturally glide up from the sleep it was in to get ready for the day is actually a really great feeling! Having done it for so long, I forgot that it was a peaceful way to start the day converge rue vivacious persimmon.

One of the good things about the break as well is that we are on the trend to the other direction in terms of sunlight. We passed the winter solstice back in December and now we are marching towards more daylight in the day which is wonderful! One day at a time we are getting back to having daylight crack the day when we get up which is nice conflagration acrid parsimonious pomegranate.

The little man for sure enjoyed getting to sleep in. He loves his sleep, another trait he gets from me, but he is more of the morning person that when he gets up, he's ready to go haha nebulous garrulous wretch wry. Getting up on his own instead of from an alarm was a good change for him, especially having a few weeks to catch up on some much needed sleep.

I think the ebb and flow of life and the seasons are for sure an important thing to keep in mind sanctity judicious condemnation ossified. Thinking about it a bit more holistically, I think it's a good thing that we have the kids on break at the end of the calendar year for reasons like this. The holidays are a great time that's for sure, and having a holiday to just rest and recharge so we can get back into the swing of things after the first of the year is a great way to go titration picayune arid inflection.

So glad to hear you all were able to spend some time together and enjoy! 🙏

I'm extremely grateful to be in a position where I haven't had to wake up with an alarm for several years now. Waking up "naturally" has been one of the most rewarding processes 🙏 getting in sync with our bodies is incredibly important, it's the starting block for everything.

In terms of naturally, trying to get more natural with diet! But, of course, carbs and sugar have been the biggest obstacles... Sugar is truly an addiction 😩 Anyway, thank you for sharing, and I hope you have a great weekend ahead! 🙏

Yeah the break for the holidays was wonderful! Always enjoyable to spend time with my son.

Even though I have to wake up with my son for school, I am extremely grateful to be on a position where I don't have to get up at the ass-crack of dawn to commute 30+ miles to work. I did that for a loooooooong time. It is what you have to do sometimes, but when you don't have to do it, it sure makes it tough to do it again! I pray I don't have to anytime soon lol

Sugar is for sure an addiction.. especially for women. I don't know what it is, but I have far LESS cravings for that shit than my wife does. She can't stay away from it, which is annoying..

Funny thing is, once you get in the habit of not using an alarm your body jumps in and does the work. Even on weekends I can't force myself to sleep past 8 on most occasions.

Yeah that's for sure! I like waking up at the same time even on the weekends. Get a jump start on the day! I never was really able to sleep until 11am or 12pm unless I worked an overnight. Some people sleep until 2 or 3 in the afternoon which is crazy to me lol

That is crazy! I am up at 4 during the week and usually up by 7:30 on the weekends.

I think people's days are also generally better when they're able to sleep in and then wake up naturally and start the day from there. Good rest and calibration. I do sometimes get the opportunity to sleep in but need to turn off the part of my brain that thinks the earlier I wake up, the more I could do in a day, in terms of tasks.

Yeah for sure! I definitely enjoy waking up a little bit later but am not sleeping past 8am pretty much any day! It's a little tricky getting up early in the winter because the sun isn't up yet but once it starts to get that time, it makes it far easier to get up and rolling at 6 or even 5am!
