Scheduled Disarray

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to laugh a little bit about how simple things can confuse us!

Scheduled Disarray

Keeping it all straight: changes in how post scheduling is displayed is messing me up LOL

Post scheduling for me is a really important thing. I get a writing groove going on some nights and just go nuts, writing 2 or 3 sometimes more posts of the various things that I've been storing up, and I get them scheduled to automatically get published on the chain at a specific day. This has been an incredibly helpful way for me to remain consistent, get some writing done and also get a post published to the blockchain every day for the past 3 years.

What is comical, and largely a tiny problem in the grand scheme of things, is when there are changes to that type of stuff and how it kind of messes me up!

One thing I will say is that I really hope they fix the post scheduling on the Leo front end - I want to earn more Leo rewards but at the same time, I don't want to have to hold a post back to wait to get it posted at the time I want it to. Yes it's a little annoying but at the same time, I have shit to do and the time the things get committed to the chain are usually when I'm getting my son to sleep, and I get an hour or two after that to do some engagement or writing.

With PeakD though, my most prolific front end for writing and posting, they made a change to how the scheduled post is displayed a few months ago and it's messed me up a fair bit, let me tell you! Lol.

I know the PeakD team does things that are for the best of everyone overall, they really are my favorite front end because this shit is awesome. Side note, anyone remember when it was Steem Peak? :D The change on the PeakD front end was to change it from what I think was local time, to universal time of some sort. I don't know for sure if it's UTC but it's certainly not blockchain time. Yup I just looked it up, it is UTC. I also just looked it up.. and it is blockchain time because that's in UTC as well apparently.. so I'm just an overall goof haha.

I schedule my posts at a specific time every day that happens to be 130 AM UTC but it always used to display in my local time when I would schedule the posts in the past. I enjoyed this being local time because it made it really easy to know when my post was being scheduled for. For example - I have one going up on Tuesday at my normal local time but it displays in the PeakD front end as 130am and the following day, compared to where I'm at. This confuses the hell out of me hahaha. I've scheduled a few posts consecutively and I've almost messed it up a few times from getting the days messed up. Yes it's not a big issue in the grand scheme of things but at the same time, it makes me think a bit extra each time I am scheduling a post - to make sure that I'm not doing it on the wrong day or doing two at one time hahaha.

I have gotten used to it that's for sure, but man did it really mess me up the first time I saw it, and the first few weeks of when I was getting the posts scheduled as I needed it to be. I've thought about it a few dozen times that's for sure!

I can see how a scheduling glitch can mess up your plans.
Inleo is in a constant state of improvement, so on any random day, you really don't know what is working or what has been changed.
It is like Forest Gump said Inleo is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you will get.

Hahah yeah I know I agree. I wish they would fix post scheduling though! It worked on the old site and a little bit on this new one but hasn't worked for many months now. Seems like a straight forward one to knock off but I know there's a balance between improvements and bug fixes.

🤣🤣🤣

The old UTC to Eastern time got ya? If anyone outside of 4chan ever makes up a 'rules of the internet' there's gotta be one about always checking whether a time is UTC or local.

Hahah yes it’s a real pain in the ass! I will say it does help me because blockchain time is UTC so at least I know that to a small extent.. before though it would convert it to local time so I knew when it would go and I could plan accordingly - I have one for Wednesday, Thursday Saturday oops I missed Friday and fix it. Just gotta think a little harder now :D

You guys are lucky to live on top of such a beautiful place. We don't get to see such views within our city.

Yeah exploring away from cities is important!

I’d try to schedule my posts for a short time
I’d know it it will work
It must be a tough task though, lol

It is tricky sometimes but it's the best way to get content out daily in my opinion!

I think you should try it. Write 3 posts, publish one today and schedule it the next 2 days and go from there.
