All four corners of the United States oppose each other like salt water and cabin pressure. I spent the majority of my 22 year career in all four of them calling 11 different states home at one time or another and stayed in at least 30. I'm not just talking out my ass like a google analytic whose never been here—all four corners oppose each other.

Throw someone from DC, Miami, Seattle and Los Angeles in a room and I'll identify each product of environment without checking ID.

DC's in a suit; man, woman, doesn't matter. Earpiece, dark glasses, two phones in one hand, briefcase in the other. What isn't a distraction is a state of emergency.

Miami speaks English, Cuban, Spanish and street. Tank tops and board shorts, bikinis and sandals. Nice teeth, gold chain, smells like piña colada sunblock.

Seattle's in a tie-dye Grateful Dead t-shirt and cut-off Levi's, dreadlocks conceal the headphones. The only one in the room who thanked the door guy.

LA's a 10, a knockout, she turns all the heads. Where all of your favorite entertainers and music icons call home. Wine country, food capital of the world, picturesque sunsets.

Proof is in the politics.

We don't need much to divide ourselves, we're human, it's what we do. And Americans like to set the bar. I call it little brother syndrome.

Say cheese to a camera stateside, you'll piss off a vegan. Discriminate against dogs and PETA's pressing charges.

Call the earth round, they'll flatten you. What goes up must come down until satellites are center of discussion. Right / left, go / stop, Democrack / Republicannot, gas / electric, just a hint is all we require to lace up and fight to death and then put it on stage for the world to see.

Like gun control.

Control is in the phrase. It's the second word in gun control. The rest of the world thinks we're a buncha vigilantes on a rampage squaring up old vendettas but no one says shit when we arm an entire continent to the teeth. No assault rifles / yes assault rifles, metal detectors / no metal detectors. In traditional American unison, we stand divided.

On abortion.

Taboo. We see the same YouTube clips, me and you; one side of the street is a bunch of women with picket signs all "My Body! My Choice!" The other side's a bunch of old white dudes like "Don't be ridiculous! Get in the kitchen!"

And nutrition.

Tell someone you don't eat meat, they call you a rabbit. Tell someone you do eat meat, they analyze your carbon footprint.

Hot and cold.

Examples are forever like block history. For every opinion there's a reaction and virtual strangers know more about what's best for me than me. If society is supposed to be split down the middle, then Americans are a textbook example of a functioning society.

Rewind to about a year ago. ⏮️

The current administration drafts a 10 grand coupon for everyone with student loan debt. If you owe 20k, now it's 10. If you owe 100k, now it's 90. 10 grand discount across the board. Not much division on that one, the picture's still intact. The No's got hostile, "I had to pay for mine and SO DO YOU!!"

Fast forward to now. ⏩️

The U.S Supreme Court threw their weight around like a couple of life sentences at Ross Ulbricht. No student loan relief, they said, court adjourned!

Disney, on the other hand, cut the check. United Airlines, Chrysler, Fannie May and Warner Brothers, fire up the printers! Majority of society doesn't agree but, whatever, nothing they can do about it anyway so they remain divided and it gets ignored, checks are cashed. It goes away.

Student loans, however, relieve students the burden of acquired financial assistance required for a degree necessary to apply for a job that gives back to the community?! You're out of your mind.

Universities don't work like that. Neither does the American tax payer. Higher education is big business with precedence to maintain.

When you can't qualify for a used Hyundai on the corner lot because you're only 16 and don't have a drivers license, go to your nearest University where you're pre-approved for a 1/4 million bucks for as little as a signature.

Can't get a loan at the pawn shop cuz you're on felony probation with two strikes? No problem! Go to your nearest university where a 6-figure check has your name on it.

Welcome to the U.S.A where General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Starlink and Northrop Grumman to name a few cash multi-million dollar checks every Friday with little to no resistance at all.

But if you want to see an impenetrable resistance where people coast to coast, Supreme Court included, an entire country knuckles up and fist bumps all loud and proud flying Red, White and Blue, back the flag and freedom and all that in all four corners; DC, Miami, Seattle and LA set aside their differences and really, really embrace like ka'pow goes the ground to the sound of feet standing for something!
