Kind People

This morning someone made a transaction with us via GCash. That's the Philippine digital wallet, and you can make any transactions everywhere as long as there are outlets in the nearby area to do this. You can go travel cashless with it, but of course it has transaction fees too. And you also have to make sure that the place you visit has those money outlets. Anyhow, it's early in the morning and someone asked for a cash-in, amounting to 2500 or $44.75.

Meaning, we'll send them money through GCash to their GCash number while they will pay us cash plus the transaction fee for that. We asked 20 PHP or $0.36 for every 1000 PHP or $17.90, so it's 2500 plus 50. We're supposed to get 2550 PHP for the whole transaction. Now the customer handed us 3000 PHP. So we have to give him 450. But then, we don't have enough bills on us to give a change, so we humbly asked the customer if they have 50 or even 100.

We planned to give him a 50 change for that while we'll give him the whole 500 paper bills. But what happened is we gave him back the 1000 while also giving him the change for the additional 100 we asked for him, which is 50 with only 2000 left on our hand. So we lost 500 PHP without realizing it. Mommy F realized it only 30 minutes after making the transaction. Mommy F is shaking because 500 may not be big to some, but for a small-time business owner like us, that's really a big amount.

We don't even earn much on this because the load we used to get access to GCash is not that cheap either. So we have to get that 500 back. We know it's our fault. You see, before this transaction, someone visited Mom, saying that there would be a delay of that "something." Mommy got annoyed and has been thinking deeply since then. So we made the cash-in transaction like we were all in dazed. When Mom handed the 1,000 peso bill on my hand, I didn't think much about it either and handed it to the customer.

I even caught a glimpse of a questioning look of the customer, but I didn't give much attention to it, lol. Mom told me that her ears suddenly felt hot when she realized it, so she had to immediately take amlodipine, lol. Even I can't properly type a message as I was also shaking, not really sure why, lol. So I texted that number where he sent the money. I texted the owner of the number while humbly asking the name or number of that customer who made a transaction with us.

I also called them, but I already tried calling them three times but got no answer. But its ringing. I just thought maybe they are busy so that they can't attend to our call. 7 minutes after my last try, finally, they called back. And I was like, "Thanks God!" I explained to the woman what happened and was lucky for us because she is actually a sister of that customer. After explaining and maybe after confirming too with her brother, he came visit to us again.

Saying that he's already at work and that he also didn't notice those 1000 peso bills. We didn't say much about it because we are just too thankful. We just gave our thanks to the customer. You know, they can choose to ignore us and pretend like nothing happened. They can just shrug it off or whatever, and it's our fault anyway. But they didn't do it, they still chose kindness. And seriously, I am sooooo really thankful. I texted the sister of that customer and thanked her a lot.

If we don't get that 500 back, Mom will think about it for days (。ŏ﹏ŏ). She has to earn it too, not just for days for sure, but weeks. Perhaps we'll blame ourselves too. We'll stress ourselves up until we just snap.

Life is all hard now, and there are people who'll resort to anything bad, but kind people still exist out there. And we happen to stumble upon those good and kind people today ( ◜‿◝ )♡.

It’s really important to do the right thing in life as much as possible. I’m glad you got to experience kindness from a stranger like this, we need more of it that’s for sure!

So true, we need it more. They are rare now but every now and then, you'll encounter one (◕ᴗ◕✿)

buti naman binalik ruff, kasi some people just ignore eh. its good na mabuting tao ang na ka transact

So true, that's why we're thankful talaga. ┏(^0^)┛

Halla buti naman sis at mabait sila. Sayang din yon kung sakali. Siguro nalito din sila kaya tinanggap na lang yung 1k.

Yun nga, kami parang lutang that time. Lalo na ako, diko manlanh napansin. HAHAHA (≧▽≦)

It's good na binalik. I thought na scam na kayo since uso 'yung scam using Gcash cash in and out.

Kaya nga eh, pwede talagang di na ibalik peri they still choose to give it back.

Grabi no, mabuti at naging honest yong customer. Pero maybe if di nyo nalaman baka nga di rin binalik yon. Still, naibalik, laki sanang bawas non sa sweldo. Aguy

Lucky he gave back the money😁. Marami na Rin Kasi ngayon mapagsamantala😬.

So true, they are so kind to give the money back.
