I think there are a lot of different scenarios, @kemmyb. We have stayed in some in major cities (like San Francisco) where it seemed like the family had a separate entrance to a smaller living space, but used the rental space when they didn't have tenants. Some are summer cabins that families use part of the time and rent out part of the time. It's a really smart business model!
