RE: WHAT IS ENTERAL/ PARAENTERAL NUTRITION IN HUMANS ?

in StemSocial2 years ago

Better late than never, I have finally found the time to read this interesting blog. As you will see below, you triggered my curiosity on different points.

. I must say that I have really missed being here as this is the longest time I have spent away from hive due to my new responsibility at my place of work and I'm happy to be back to you my lovely people to enjoy every bit of knowledge shared here and I will do my best not to stay away this long.

Maybe you mentioned it in another blog, but what is this new responsibility about? Do you mind providing some more details about it? Moreover, I guess congratulations are in order!

The passage of the tube could be done with the aid of an endoscope through endoscopy to ensure it is rightfully placed or through acquired skill by either the doctors or the nurse's but because of time I will not be able to explain the procedure in this post except maybe on special request 😊😊.

Is this a request to get a special request? :D

On the other hand, even after reading the blog, I am still puzzled about how choices are made concerning the type of nutrition system that must be adopted in each case. Do you mind clarifying a bit with this respect? What are the driving factors? Who decides? Thanks in advance for your answer!

Have a nice end of the week!

😂😂 so sorry my response is coming this late. Actually I was given an additional responsibility at my place of work to handle, which requires more time and I think I will see it as a promotion 😊 so thanks for the congratulations.

To the best of my knowledge, the factors to be considered in the choice of which type of nutrition to follow are the different health conditions of Patients eg prematurity, malnutrition, inability to eat or tolerate food due to poor appetite or other underlying health conditions etc, the financial strength of the individual etc these are some of the factors which could determine the choice of the nutrition.

It is the responsibility of the health team to decide which nutrition a patient should benefit from, but it's still the right of the patient or relatives to either accept or decline as they wish.

I hope this answered your questions?

Thanks for all your answers to the (personal and topic-related) questions.

How important are the economical aspects to the choice of nutrition, related to the health condition? Would it be possible that a patient does not get the best option if they don't have enough money? If this is the case, I am definitely shocked..

PS: that's OK for the delay in answering. Don't worry ;)

Financial constraints could affect the nutrition choice and quality of a patient here in my area especially in private owned facilities.

And what about public institutions?

It's still dependent on your economic capability, because you will either get it by yourself or pay to the hospital for it, the only difference is that it will be a bit subsidized.
